GG's well deserved by MarineKing.

The thing about Jinros play, or maybe MKP play is that Jinro fell behind on expansions so fast. Marineking had 5 orbital commands when Jinro had two, so even if his army is countered by Jinros, and even if his bases get killed left and right he still has a huge economic lead. I'm not sure whether Jinro just couldn't expand due to the insane mobility of bio, or just kinda forgot. Either way, enjoyable series.

MKP is easily one of my least favorite players, but his games will probably be more dynamic vs MVP than Jinro's would be.

Also, it'll be nice to see MVP teach everyone how to beat the marineking style.

I would say Jinro's mechanics are a bit better then MKP, but MKP is considered "predictable" so the two gold expansions really are out of the blue. That economic boost to his bio plus crisp timings was enough to push the last two games in MKP's favor.

Slow reaction time by Jinro, not posting in the LR thread yet ...

Am scrolling through the pages to find his reaction, always love that

Grats to both players, Jinro learns and improve very fast so he'll return better.

And MKP/MVP have the very same TvT style, this serie will just be epic.

MKP keeps impressing me.
Really clever play today, exploiting the immobility of the heavy tank army of Jinro with drops, flanks, coutner attacks

Jinro just needs to refine his play more. He's slightly too greedy when it's not worth it to be, and his decision making has not been the level of semi-final play.

MKP is a gimmicky bish, but Jinro hasn't been playing smart enough to expose him IMO.

Lol and Jinro isn't gimmicky? Give me a break.

If these two play a straight up game, Jinro wins.

Until I opened the nested quote I thought you're talking about Idra v Jinro. And like WTF.

MKP taking game 4 with an unscouted economic cheese. Brilliant.

Rofl, literally every single thing he does is considered cheese.

BANSHEES = CHEESE
EXPANDING = CHEESE
MACROING = CHEESE
MICROING = CHEESE

Christ.

Last game was the only cheese mkp did this game, I mean yeah possibly proxy banshee as well but that can be effective even if scouted. Bw players should understand.

The double expo was a clever, clever economic cheese. It was amazing play basically.

Taking a third v a FE is safe. See what MVP did on metal. Nothing cheesy at all about it, the 400 resources is negated by the defender's advantage because you know your opponent can't make more than your army + 400 minerals.

No it gets demolished if it's scouted early enough by a couple of timing pushes.

At least we should have a good final match, no TSL_Rain, these are both good players.

Great season, Jinro. That match against oGsEnsnare was the best thing ever witnessed on the GSL.

MKP deserves a lot of credit here. The thrust of his sword is all marines, but he's being incredibly adaptive. We saw quick attacks, some sneaky play, some solid expanding... one dimensional he is not. Watching him dart in and out and force siege was beautiful.

Great fight, Jinro. Game one was beautifully choreographed. You have very little to prove, keep working on your game and a title will be yours!

Recap:

Both players FE but MK also takes a quick third, the gold base. In classic MK style, he prefers the mobility in infantry units over powerful tanks. Despite having a higher quality army for most of the game, Jinro loses to the superior numbers from MK.

Tanks aren't the same as what they used to be in BW. Extremely good at sieging and also defending but doesn't seem to be the case in SC2.

Shouldn't tanks in TvT be used simply for defense? If you consider how fast marauders are with stim, how much HP they have, and also how well they DPS against tanks, don't they completely nullify tanks in their role of attack?

It seems like a really poor idea to use tanks for attacking when they just simply can't fill that role, not to mention the fact that doing so greatly diminishes your mobility. Instead, Jinro could have done what MKP was doing (expoing everywhere) by setting up tanks in good locations to defend and used whatever else to harass. Then, when tanks reach critical mass, move out and overwhelm the opponent.

I'm a noob at SC2 and I don't watch too often so can anyone tell me why it seemed like tanks aren't viable for offense in TvT?
wat.

Even though there is a few, don`t downplay MKP`s play, you aren`t giving Jinro credit by doing so. They both played amazing in code S.
