He seemed to have just lifted a tank, then stopped doing anything. Maybe he realized he was going to lose the battle before he got around to use them and decided to save the energy? It was over pretty fast before he decided to back off. He did put up a few shields though. *dunno*

And then in your last game...well did it again! I am so very happy for you ![]() On the whole drama thing, I cannot understand what people are even talking about. It was a rather straightforward situation, Jinro went to MC and showed understanding and sportmanship, MC was devastated and very understandably so, but he certainly wasnt BMing or anything, he was even nodding at was Jinro was saying. I am sure anyone who has ever competed in anything has been in that situation, no? It was just a show of human emotion, no shame or bad manners in that.

When you sit at at home throwing your hands up in the air after each game, shouting and hopefully waking your neigbour, you know that you are watching Jinro play GSL. The thing is, that's what I did! Questions to Jinro: What was going through your head when MC did his 4 gatepush? Were you confident to hold it or did you think it was the end of the game? As Artosis said you didnt make ANY maraduer during your 2 games against MC. Did you have that in mind or did it just happned you didnt need them? Cheers from Stockholm!

NO, vikings do NOT hardcounter them, not with any kind of support (especially once P gets storm). Carriers actually have 10 range while attacking (the interceptors go further than the acquisition range) I believe. Its not a bad choice, in practice games he has beaten me with the 2 stargate carrier switch several times. The biggest problem is his 3rd was slow, which vs mech it typically shouldnt be. Jinro knows what he's talking about. Watch Jinro vs Axslav VOD in the TL link yesterday for proof. MC didn't have enough carriers / didn't have enough ground forces to smoothly transition into them. Axslav took an earlier third and had a nice ground army that he slowly transitioned into carriers with. MC's army was too small b/c he transitioned too soon. I think he was rattled b/c Jinro was holding his own and panicked and got them early. The balance (not game, but battle balance) is very delicate. MC didn't have critical mass and a huge viking group was effective enough. If he had a critical mass the vikings would do almost nothing and MC would have won (again, see Jinro vs Axslav).

So these types of unit mixes weren't _that_ new to the two of you? I mean, you've played like this in practice as well? But versus all those thors... The new patch would just suggest void rays versus thors and phoenix/carrier to take care of vikings. Though he did a terrible mistake and just clumped all phoenixes so they were one shot by all thors. (I realize that the economy part was probably the major issue)

Thank you for pointing me to that game :D! I really hope the meta-game goes into that direction... Would make this game soooo much more enjoyable.

Its like getting way too many hellions....the unit just isn't that useful in large battles, especially if you make the mistake of letting them clump up against thors. No, that's not at all correct. The biggest problem was the economy in both games; he couldn't get up his third base in time. The phoenixes were useful in both games.
