Thank you my friend
Momentarily I think of going there with 2 of my best friends and i promise we will scream as loud as possible (actually we will be the loudest xd) in the first row.But hopefully they are coming with me.
For any others: Sweden is beautiful and i always enjoyed my time in northern europe a lot.So shut up Euros, pack the bag and go cheering there! xd
Thats good for the european esports.

Today DreamHack could present the first five invited and confirmed players to [DSL] - DreamHack SteelSeries Lan Tournament - Starcraft 2 at DreamHack Winter 2010 (25th-28th of November) to fight for 180 000 Swedish crowns (~$26 900). Please note that application is still accepted until the 6th of November at sc2@dreamhack.se]

Seriously? Thats one rookie error. It should be "180 000 Swedish Kronor".
In Swedish our currency has the same name as the word krona(english: crown)

Imagine Russian Ruble also meaning sausage in Russian. Would you then write "100 000 Russian Sausages" when translating to english?.

Unless the price is actually real crowns :D

^^It may not be technically correct but the Swedish currency is often called crowns in english, even by credible sources. And your analogy is weird since kronor actually means crowns in direct translation. You don't assume you are getting actual kronor (crowns) when you say it in Swedish so why would you assume that in English?

Because there is no word in english for "kronor"(the swedish currency) only for the word "kronor"(crowns).
And just because "credible sources" use it doesn't mean that it is correct.

Should we in Sweden stop saying "English Pound" and call it "Engelsk Inhängnad" just because it directly translates to that?

Wow, once again you fail completely with your analogy. You wouldn't call the pound inhängnad because that's not what it refers to but with the kronor it actually does refer to crowns. How is that so hard to understand? And yes, saying "swedish crowns" is a accepted informal way of saying it. In norsteds EN-SWE dictionary you get this when you look up "crown":

3b. krona (a Swedish ~)

On the oppostite if you look up "krona" in the SWE-ENG book you get:

3. Svenska mynt Swedish krona pl kronor, ibland Swedish crown

So take it up with them if you don't like it. Or maybe that isn't credible enough for you?

Also as a poster below me brought up, we don't say "pound" either in Swedish. We say "pund". Your first post is the equivalent of an English poster coming to a Swedish forum and mock someone for writing pund instead of pound.

This looks like it is going to be insane! So many good players, and the spots aren't even filled yet! I'm thinking we may be able to see a Protoss tournament victor this time around. The way WhiteRa and NonY have been playing lately, I wouldn't be surprised with either of them winning.

Nice prize pool also, this looks like an awesome event for Euro E-sports in general.

Wow big news, wouldn't have thought that

He's doing both. Idra is basically so confident in his game that he feels he can do well with a jetlag and lack of activity (cause of all the traveling) at both Dreamhack and GSL Ro32. It would be a big gamble for most players because you may end up with nothing. The schedule is very tight.

Wow.. that's somewhat impressive.

If you are talking Swedish, yes. You don't say 'kronor' when you speak English. Just like you don't say 'pounds' when you talk Swedish. At least I don't think you do. If you do, then sorry, I don't really know Swedish that well.

You are correct we say "Pund," in Swedish, so your point is valid. This is really off topic so lets just get back to Dreamhack.

Go Idra!!

Wow, this tourney has most of the best EU players and US players currently. I hope the tournament format is good, so that we can see how all these players stack up against each other.

You may not like that others use the word 'crowns' for your currency but you can't really do anything about it. It's not really a 'rookie mistake' as it's commonly used and not ambiguous. That's how language tends to work.
