Tomorrow night TeamLiquid's very own Chris 'HuK' Loranger will be taking on Evil Genius's Bryce 'Machine' Bates in a Best-of-3 on GiantBomb.com's Thursday Night Throwdown.
While this doesn't seem as big as say the GSL RO16 or something every North American hardcore Starcraft 2 fanatic should watch, it is pretty important. GiantBomb is one of the biggest and best general video game websites out there on the internet. Their podcast, The Bombcast, is generally regarded as the best gaming podcast and has the numbers to prove it as well. Tomorrow they will be featuring Starcraft 2 on their weekly live show Thursday Night Throwdown. This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants eSports to grow in North America and to show it, all you have to do is tune in.
HuK and Machine will begin around - 5:30 Pacific
- 7:30 Central
- 8:30 Eastern
Before the big showmatch, GiantBomb will be taking players from its site to participate in several different matches. If you are looking to play during their two hour show, you can find out how over at their site.
There will not be any "professional commentary" for the match, only the editors from WhiskyMedia will be there (who are always entertaining, mind you). If this thread starts flaming how bad it is I will ask TL.net mods to lock it.

I've been fortunate enough to watch Machine play quite a bit on the NA server vs some of my top 200 friends.
I'd just like to say that he is extremely nice, extremely GM and just an all around great guy.

When HuK sits at his computer, SC2 plays on its own. This works on an unlimited amount of machines as long as they are within 10 feet of him. Known bug feature.

Yeah. I think it'll be something like a husky cast cause he's not close to pro level (somewhere mid-diamond) and he plays Protoss/is learning Zerg.

For tnt giantbomb editors usually play against the community, and they're planning to show/talk about an in office civ v tourny as well, so huk probably won't play immediately. Their shows are usually around 2 hours but they don't set a strict time limit for themselves.

I went to the giantbomb homepage, logged in there, and then clicked the startcraft 2 banner and tried to get into the chat.
Kind of sucks to have to join a new website just to see a stream, but this will hopefully be a fun matchup.

I was talking about the community guy playing, not Machine. He hasn't played yet, they play matches with the community every thursday and it's what they're doing right now.

They are. Giant Bomb is one of the best gaming sites on the net. They are free of most corporate viral crap that sites like IGN, GameFAQS, Gamespot have. Really great guys who love games. They posted a very good and positive 5/5 review for sc2 and really engage their community. Great guys. So happy they did this.
