This was quoted and some got upset. I should clarify that, although I do think it is a bit amateurish, the second part was 100% sarcastic. I do not wish anyone's life to be ruined. If anything I was trying to convey the opposite, something like "This is kinda disappointed, but ah well, there's more important things to get upset about."
I hoped the sarcasm was quite clear -- but they say there is a big cultural component to sarcasm, so I guess it wasn't clear to everyone.
Do realize its on a forum. Its hard to tell when posts are sarcastic or not for the most part its not like we hear the voice or anything.

The sheer amount of crying that comes up anytime there are stream issues for any tournament never ceases to amaze me. Guess what, even the Broodwar scene would suffer from technical difficulties and delays from time to time. Jesus I don't get the backlash at people complaining. They have every right to complain. The god damn stream is 2 HOURS late. They said that we wouldn't miss ANYTHING and now they are saying we won't even get to see the RO64. So if people want to bitch and complain, get off their backs. If they want to say that MLG is amateurish, obviously they are. If they want to take these events big time, they need to be more professional. That includes being more technically proficient, and communicating more effectively. There's a difference between rational complaints/arguments and simply crying because something didn't go as expected. MLG has been running tournaments for years at this point, and calling them amateurish only make the person complaining look like a joke. Starcraft 2 is not the only event going on at this site and they have many responsibilities. I'm sure they'd like to delay streams in order to make sure the spectators can view the games, however when time constraints become a legitimate issue sacrifices will have to be made and the outcome wont please everybody. They are running tournaments since years and still have fuckups every time. I remember WoW tournaments being like 5 hours late multiple times. How is this professional?
I have never, once in my life, been witnessed to any large scale tournament that did not suffer technical difficulties or delays of some kind or another. I have watched plenty of MLG streams in the past that ran extremely smoothly, but delays and such are in the nature of how these things are ran.

How entitled can you get? Hahahahahahahaha I kno rite its not like you paid for 64 rounds... 64 rounds??? Jesus how long is this tournament? obv i meant round 64... If nobody ever demands refunds when the company they buy from fucks up, what is going to stop them from fucking up? They wont spend the extra time to make sure shits good because they get nothing from it. But seeing as thats all you could say about my post you obv its not like you had any points to being with I love it when people post a one line post with 5 grammatical mistakes and get made fun of for it. Then they say, "well, you didn't attack my post based on its content, so you must not have an argument."
What content?? You posted a one-liner!

I was really looking forward to getting home to watch this. Now I'm afraid if I start doing something else (like play a game) it'll start and I'll forget to tune in.

cable TV schedule demands are 10000x more strict than a LAN with an internet stream; OGN/MBC/etc's production staff is far larger than MLG's, etc

I don't think it is culture, as much as sarcasm in text almost always fails.

"Hate to be so emotional, I didn't mean to get physical, But when he pulled in & revved it up, I said "you call that a pickup truck?" And in the moonlight I throw him down, all kickin' screamin' and rollin' around, A little piece of a bloody tooth, just so you know I was thinkin' of you, Just so you know oohhh."

To be fair to MLG, you have to remember that they use hotels for this stuff and have to take all their equipment round in lorries and use local internet as opposed to some special site that they can use for every event which they could fine tune to work perfectly. It's also not feasible to rent the space for long enough to utterly guarantee that everything will be perfect on the night - consider how huge the space they're using is and remember that they're not actually that big a company and you'll see why they have to cut things fine. Yeah, we all want competitive gaming to get beyond this, but the fact is that it's still in its infancy.
Still, I'm disappointed. They've never had this long a delay before. 90 minutes late and no sign of showing up. I'm going to get ready for bed and if it's not started by the time I get back I'll give up for tonight.

"MLG|Shrew: Small technical difficulty, we'll be up and running soon. As soon as we're online we'll start off with the pre-game show and then the matches. You're not going to miss anything!" -MLG Shrew
This I think is probably one of the bigger reasons people are going to be upset

That time means nothing. It's the exact same on all the streams, and has been there for over an hour now. It's some old title overlay that has nothing to do with MLG DC.
