The statement is not true for StarCraft II. The only delays we had in Cologne were because of the players being late and those were counted in minutes, not hours. We did have delays in New York City, but ~30 minutes max. Having said that: guys, it's really not simple to run an event if you need to build the entire tournament and streaming infrastructure from the ground up in a very limited time frame. It's not the same as walking into a studio where everything had been pre-built and tested many times.

But if Ret vs. Machine is in the first round I'm pretty pissed. When is the last time you've seen a high level ZvZ in a major tournament?

They said that we wouldn't miss ANYTHING and now they are saying we won't even get to see the RO64. So if people want to bitch and complain, get off their backs. If they want to say that MLG is amateurish, obviously they are. If they want to take these events big time, they need to be more professional. That includes being more technically proficient, and communicating more effectively. There's a difference between rational complaints/arguments and simply crying because something didn't go as expected. MLG has been running tournaments for years at this point, and calling them amateurish only make the person complaining look like a joke. Starcraft 2 is not the only event going on at this site and they have many responsibilities. I'm sure they'd like to delay streams in order to make sure the spectators can view the games, however when time constraints become a legitimate issue sacrifices will have to be made and the outcome wont please everybody.

It's technology based sport, of course things aren't going to go completely smooth. It saddens me to see how much whining there is on this thread. Somhow they manage to get these problems EVERY time.

To assume that the tech support at MLG is overlooking the issues AND/OR have other reasoning for why the delays are occuring is selfish and silly, just like many people in this thread have done. I don't think they're overlooking the issues. I think they're full of shit for changing "starting in 15 minutes" to "starting soon" an hour ago. I paid money for a black screen and an octoshape plugin that hogs my connection, broadcasting that same black screen to all of you. I understand that shit happens. I don't however accept that they can't provide timely and honest updates to paying customers.

X = 2^(y-1) where X is the number of players and Y is number of rounds. 64 rounds = 2^63 = 9.22337204 × 10^18 Way more than 1536. (fixed maths)
