ITT A lot of people who when they calm down will look back on this and give Hyperdub the credit he deserves. He played incredibly solid, he made the mistake of A-Moving into a Terran Siege line when one gets impatient sitting there with a huge army in game 1, came back from a crushing defeat took game 2 convincingly and finished it up knowing that the past two games TLO did the same strat both times leaving him exposed in the early game to cheese.

Well read, tbh I can't wait for Hyperdub vs. Tester, they are both calm and patient players so it'll be amazing to watch.

TLO Cya next GSL.

I don't think most people in this thread know that a BW forum even exists.

yes it is. because this is a live report thread not a "I whine because my favorite player got cheesed" thread. Noone wants to read it, just keep it to yourself and live with it.

I guess most of BW dudes won't complain too much about the 2 rax rush,
since it is too common in BW, it is part of game that you prepare for cheeses.

And this is always what Euro/American players lack back in the days of BW.
Too stiff and predictable. Cheese is much harder to defend in BW.

Bummed that TLO lost to cheese. Also bummed that no foreigners are left in GSL (but I still some Koreans to root for).

Also bummed by the haters on both sides of this thread. Both TLO and Hyperdub played well at times, made mistakes at others. Anyone who plays TvT knows that TLO's fast Thor build puts him at a slight disadvantage to the standard fast tank build, and I think the discrepancy in the first two games can be attributed to TLO's build weakness as opposed to straight up Hyperdub "outplaying" TLO.

Hyperdub is a great player, but it is hard to be polite to a guy who cheeses and trusts his fate to luck rather than skill. But one should not expect class and sportsmanship from kids playing video games.

Finally: seriously TLO, scout close positions first.

As always, blame the game not the player

Even at the first game hyperdub had almost always the upper hand and it was his fault for giving more and more chances to TLO to come back, a more solid player would have crashed him very early IMHO.

Also cheese is nothing new and ofc TLO has seen it many times on ladder or, even better, at OGS house, if not then coaches doing something wrong.

FANTASTIC DAY OF GAMES ;0 - TOTALLY PUMPED TO SEE MORE

Even in the first matchup I was smashing my fist onto the table and shouting stuff like "F''' YEAH Korean 4-warp rush!" when I was attempting to predict the play. Then the "finals" with TLO just intensified the atmosphere even more. Also, I really love the Artosis+Tasteless caster couple. Occasionally, they miss some things but they got so awesome stuff going on that it doesn't matter.

No huge "foreigner history" was made this GSL, but gotta say... well played sir(s)!

I think and hope Tester will beat Hyperdub, not mainly because he beat TLO but because Tester is my favorite protoss and we really dont need more terrans in the GSL

All those hating on Hyperdub should be ashamed of being a TLO fan - he wouldn't like that. Hyperdub made a risky decision which paid of.

Those who are saying TLO got outplayed should ask themselves why Hyperdub, considering he should think then he is the better player, would decide to play such a risky build in the last game though.

it sucks that TLO lost to cheese but Hyperdub's openings were way stronger and TLO made a few mistakes in the 2nd game

Those might turn into some interesting games. Hyperdub proved he's a solid player (despite what haters might be saying), I wonder if he'll put up a good fight.

What is this BW you are referring to? And what does it have to do with Starcraft 2?
You should not have to pay to watch the GSL, Proleague, or OSL at a reasonable time. That is not "fine" and it's BS to say otherwise. My sig since 2011. http://www.youtube.com/user/dabom88

I haven't read any of this thread but I'm assuming the last 5-6 pages have been people raging about TLO losing and trash-talking Hyperdub and being incredibly disrespectful towards him. Shit like that really needs to stop. It gives this website a horrible image. Please, have some sense, and some respect.

Yeah I wanted TLO to advance but Hyperdub deserved the win. There's no other way about it. Congrats to Hyperdub and I hope he puts up a good fight against Tester next round. Better luck to TLO next time.

I don't respect cheese. I don't think he deserved the win for a retarded coin toss. It's a cheap way to win and it cheapens the game. It's the type of unsportsmanlike garbage you see with the constant faux "injuries" in soccer. It's bad for the sport.

You don't respect every single professional Brood War player in existence then, including Boxer. They all cheesed at some point or another. It's a valid option to win games. Get used to it.

Okay, cool, then I don't. Cheese is bad for the game as a spectator sport. It's the equivalent of distracting the referee while you deal a low blow.

Note that there's a difference between not respecting a player (I think Hyperdub is a great player) and not respecting a game he played.

I don't put anyone on a pedestal, nor do I demonize anyone. If you play entertaining games and have talent, cool. If you go for the zero skill cheap trick, I'm not going to offer some sort of feigned props to games well played, because the deciding game was decidedly not so.

well I am dissapointed by the "cheese" too but I kind of Understand Hyperdub with so much money on the line in this huge Tournement and going 1:1 against TLO you do not want an extended 3rd Game still I say downright forbid these Cheesebuilds in so called "professionel Gameplay". It just hurts E-Sports.
I give up, I just don't know what to write here.

So yeah, there goes my last reason to watch this tournament, apart from tester, I'm just not emotionally invested in any of the players that much.

This, Tester is the only one worth watching now.

And cool ? And check ? And rainbow ? And hyperdub ?

He´s like Nal_Ra or Boxer, always trying new and creative things. If Huk did an unorthodox build people wouldn´t call him a noob, if any known good player does a weird build he doesnt get called a noob, since you can most of the times see the intent of the build, what its meant to do and achieve. While someone not as great tries a weird build and completely fails, you often dont see the intent or purpose, or just notice that its plain thought out wrong/executed.

TLO is very creative, there is no denying it.

I didn't think it was that fun to watch. After Xel'naga i was expecting a truly epic game on Metalopolis. Even if TLO won it would have been disappointing.
