Its a shame its something you have to pay for, when there is no guarantee that it will work properly and their terms of agreement basically is "whatever happens and whatever we do you will never get any money back". Hopefully its watchable on that OGN thingy, too bad I won't get to see artosis / tasteless, they are so awesome. But if almost all of the potential shoppers in a store told them their prices were too expensive and showed them the amount of business they were losing, there's a good chance that store would listen.

Because if they do thats a free tv channel as far as I know so they can´t stop anyone from restreaming that? Also would you pay money for a stream if you could just watch it on tv for free?

It is the most popular and the biggest one so they'll prevent the majority watching ogn streams but that won't mean they'll be able to prevent the streams since TL is not the only sc2 site. This is an inevitable problem for gomtv and in the end the only possible solution would be making sure all korean internet cannot be restreamed/accessed to outside of korea which is undoable or costly. It's as hard for GOMtv as it is for you to find the restream. The only good way I could see is to spread the links through IRC, given they can't contact livestream/ustream/etc to take the streams offline. Otherwise, TL will hardly have any choice than to bend over and erase every post containing a restream. Otherwise, they'll be up against Blizzard. Record companies do it all the time.

Technically if they re-stream the TV broadcast and not the GOM stream i think Blizzard wouldnt be able to do anything.

I'm also worried that it's also going to create bad relationships between foreigners and GomTV / Blizzard as we will all likely just watch free re-streams. Either with the English commentary or OGN version; wont matter to us.

Record companies do it all the time. you mean they try and fail? but this is what I've meant; they are acting like they are selling a highly valuable thing - but seriously, that's just a couple of games of starcraft when you think about it: one month livestream + VOD and you could afford another copy of starcraft 2 itself - wtf?

That being said, the pricing is high for what you are getting. It doesn't seem like they did a lot of research of how to price it. Something akin to xboxlive or psnplus is more the standard in the west. $5 per month, with VOD's for free albeit delayed by a few days. That way they would sell a whole lot more subs than it will be right now. Maybe 10% of TL'ers will buy this (those who can afford it) and the rest will leech off other people's streams. It's just the nature of what happens. It seems like this decision is purely an executive "far-away-from-the-street" one, based purely on numbers. I understand that GOM is a company for profit and can't put out stuff constantly for free. A bad income statement from Gretech is a bad sign to future companies who might consider sponsoring SC2. We really don't know what the financials of GOM is right now, and we have to consider that they do provide a lot of korean content for free. We also know Tasteless and Artosis won't be working for peanuts, so in fact, our money will be supporting them, as they support esports. The fact that we have to pay is a natural thing. People have to grow up and get used to it. The pricing plan though in this instance sucks, and should be reworked for the next season or it will get disappointing numbers.
