I like that, and don't. Not everyone play ladder as much as customs/cups, or had time to play those 100+ games during p2 to force themselves visible. But picking top contenders from ladder definately sounds reasonable. I'd say 10/60ppl could easily be taken in only due to ladder success.

All the races updated. Didn't go through and make sure all the ones already filled in are correct. If there was a mistake with those then it is still there:

As for my suggestions, I run tournaments with iCCup and do watch just about every NA tournament.
Known/semiknown players you are missing:
KiwiKaki - Protoss player for ROOT gaming. He does not play that many tournaments for whatever reason, but when he does play, he wins. He can compete with anyone on that list imo.
Joseki - He will probably be in Korea by the time this starts, but he's a good Terran player. Went 2-4 in a showmatch vs IdrA so he can definitely compete and give you good games if not perform well and win.
Copperhead - Competes in a bunch of iCCup events and holds his own against more known players. Great underdog to root for.
MoMaN - Plays on the same french team (Millenium) with HuK. Insanely good player, and insanely nice guy. Will definitely be a good player to add.
Suggy - Former Z player that recently went P. He's been in iCCup events and MLG events. Great player. Might be on ROOT? Not to sure about that. Really good player
ThisIsJimmy - Solid T player. Always gives good games.
Destiny - Streams as Steven Bonnell on TL. He's a great Zerg player that doesn't go mass Hydras. Big fan of things like burrow and nydus worms. Will definitely be a change of strategy from other Zerg players. Has competed with a few of the top players and does extremely well on ladder.
Antimage - Great Protoss player for vT gaming. Didn't play much in phase 2 for whatever reasons, but he should be playing at launch. Very solid player. One of the better US Protoss players out there.
Roboferret - Somehow this guy doesn't get recognized as much as he deserves. Great Protoss player who can compete with the best and give you good games. Definitely a good player.
Stalife - Really good Terran player. Has competed with a few of the top players out there and really is just not getting the recognition he deserves. Really good bet if you're looking for any sort of underdog. Definitely has the potential to make it far.
Hope my suggestions helped. Would love to see some of the lesser known players get in and hopefully surprise you and the viewers. GL with the tournament..

guys keep in mind theres region locking hopefully theres extra accounts

Why not host some open qualifiers for the remaning spots? That's what I think would be the best

I feel about the same about even though i posted the idea. I wouldn't get to see more half of my favorite players perform but however it would provide the best of the best. I would say that achieving super high ladder status is tougher than winning one/two tournaments since you have to play more games. I think it judges overall skill much better. Much better than people's opinions. It would also provide an equal opportunity in the future for invite tournaments since everyone has the opportunity to grind on ladder to be top ranked players(remember globally, not just one server , and none of this "O i'm #1 in my diamond division" but in actuality 500th on the global list). I just really think that statistics should be used to determine the best players rather than biased opinions(that goes for myself included).

Invite JF, that should be a no brainer.
Sangho and Upmagic would be awesome.
David Kim is a must.
|
Why don't you guys hold pre-tournament tourney to fill up the spot, therefore giving fresh new players from the scene? I would definitely want to join this tourney if possible...
|
I feel really sad not seeing Kiwikaki on the invite list. He's easily on the same level as most of those players invited. Either way, looking forward to another great tournament. Gogo starcraft two community goodness.
|
I would love to see Destiny, aka Steven Bonnell, on here. Great Z player that uses a lot of tools that other people don't. I haven't seen him against the top tier players but he does very well on the diamond ladder, especially in ZvZ.

THIS IS GOING TO BE SOOOOOOOOOO AWESOME

Yes, I would love to see Joseki and MoMaN in this.

well, that's simple, ladder is for many a place to try stuff out or something to do when bored and no one else is on! , for example I played A LOOOOOOOT more games with my teammates in training sessions at nights than I did in ladder because in my opinion I get better quality practice from qxc cauthonluck sheth kiwikaki slush drewbie suggy etc than I do playing someone who may or may not be good in ladder. so I've been practicing really hard ! how would your idea be fair to me, or for example qxc?
I am sure like blizzard has done in the past they'll host Ladder finals and reward top ladder players, then be assured everyone will play a lot more and try their best on ladder. But until then, i'll continue to play with my team, because I feel that it's the best way for me to improve.

Invite Madfrog aka Unknownart. He could win the whole thing if he tried.
Check his ranking at the end of the beta: Global ranking

No one said it would be fair to you. Not everyone deserves to get in based on reputation, or how much they practice with their team.
I think the way they are doing this is fine. Let the community decide some spots.

I'm completely AGAINST inviting all of oGs....they've served the foreigner community next to nil. They'll have their fair share of tournaments in Korea to be winning

Even though this seems plausible in the first look, it really isn't for several reasons. Mass gaming grants you high spots even if you're only about 50% win ratio. More important: The top players practise a lot with other top players in custom games; while laddering certainly belongs also to their training, the big part is custom games which of course don't show up in ladder.

But isnt it more fun to see the best players battle it out for the title? I mean youll get better games and a bigger variation of play style and players.

I would suggest Kiwikaki, Capoch, Stalife and Myself (ThisIsJimmy). I've been on top of the US ladder throughout phase 1 and 2 and I have gone 6-2 in the ITL. I also placed highly in many tournaments and feel I am much better then some of the selections so far.

Its fair to you guys since you can choose to play ladder just like EVERYONE else. Your reasons for not choosing to play ladder as frequently...well thats your perogative. But what your saying doesn't actually apply to anything i said. if ladder isn't that hard for you then i guess you should have no problem making top 64 then right? So i'm still not exactly sure what your saying isn't fair..... Anyway The Sky is blue ;P

It's a crime if you invite a bunch more North American players over MadFrog, DayFly, and the rest of ogs.

So because they don't all know english and don't waste their time on silly tournaments with no prize pools or streaming themselves for attention they should be punished because they don't serve us? It's the same situation as the last HDH, do Husky and HDStarcraft want good players or popular community players? That's up for them to decide. I'd prefer the option that results in better games.
