When are the first games starting? It will be on youtube? I dont care about livestream..
IdrA: stalkers actually do negative damage. when you shoot a marine with a stalker it gains health.

Yes they will all be posted on youtube in full definition goodness, I believe thats on the first page.

Games may not be posted for a few more days as some are being played over the weekend and recent battle.net turbulence may postpone some matches.
I enjoy watching more than playing.

When are these games going to be I haven't seen any updates, I ask because I see it was suppose to start on the 21st I'm a bit ocnfused.

Players have from the 21st to the 27th to play their games. The only thing starting on the 21st is the period where games can be played, it doesn't mean the games definitely are starting then.

Is this really true? Major tournaments allow you to choose races for matchups? In Starcraft or all RTS? That seems unlikely to me - what if (hypothetically speaking) the current (meta)game was imbalanced such that P>T, T>Z, and Z>P. Two race changing players going up against one another could not get matched up.

I mean I don't think it really matters in this situation anyway, but for future events I think it's a bad idea.

There is a good point. Lets say player A is protoss, but wants to be zerg against terran. Player B is terran, but wants to be zerg against protoss. So whats going to happen now if they face each other? ZvZ, even though poth players would not mind playing with their main race against Z? Or does just one player randomly change? What if player B is terran, but wants to play protoss against zerg? How do these big tournaments handle this?

I believe if the players can't decide on a matchup they would do a double blind race pick. I think that's what they did for the TSL but I can't find the rules.

^ I have thought about that as well but usually it's just one player who ends up counter picking the other and when that does actually happens most of the time the players just make up their mind pick a race and go with it. I don't think there has ever been a case where the players start acting childish and keep switching every time the other player switch. Like player A just decides to stick with Protoss and play vs. T or what ever counterpick B has.

As for how big tournaments handle them, there is the 1 race only rule, winner of game1 has to play the same race or players separately announce before hand what race they will play that particular match.

Even pros can racepick. The most recent instance I can remember is Savior picking T against Gorush. You have to announce your choice ahead of time (and without knowing what your opponent will pick, though of course in general you can be pretty certain), but it's allowed.

I'm pretty sure that at least in professional WC3 you were allowed to racepick, precisely because some players were convinced that a certain matchup was imbalanced (orc vs undead was it?). Obviously there'd be a problem if two race pickers play a game that's rock paper scissors as you describe, but such a game would be a crappy RTS anyways.

I've always wondered what you do if both players are race pickers who absolutely refuse to play anything other than the match up they like.. for example they both play pvz and zvp, but who is the declared p, and who is the declared z? And what if they won't compromise!
