1 gate robo works.
You go Stalker sentry stalker with your gate and then make a warp gate and warp a zealot in
with the robo down make an immortal for the bio push and then the observer for the cloak banshee rush or for scouting.

2-5Gates
robo bay or templar archives
you can get blink against heavy mech and charge against bio balls.

theres nothing low level about making a strategy that only requires a unit from a given structure (ie warp prism) to supplement an attack (ie 4 gate). You don't need to keep producing out of that structure at all

yes your 4 gate will be "weaker" but im 100% sure you would have been feeling juked if you saw a large army at your front when you scouted the robo bay and then suddenly 2 zealots are dropped in your minerals... yes you lose time by doing this, but you also lose time and units by having to fight your enemy's army straight up, especially if its a P forcefielding the ramp

right now the "metagame" feels like doing whatever day[9] says and trying anything else is dumb IMO

I'm actually impressed with your handing of the 4gate even-though it was executed poorly (make that horrendously). In a similar position I'm sure that a player of equal skill (or one that even knew how to 4gate) would have wrecked the 1gate robo. His unit choice was pretty terrible and that he just threw his units to die without any micro was pretty bad, a stalker mixed in would have finished off your immortals (20ish and 3 hp remaining) and the loss of his initial 3 stalkers spelled doom for the 4gate from the start.

Only in optimal situations can you even have 1 IMMORTAL, how do you expect to have Collosus out by then?

unless you have a new build that can get out collosus by 6:30 you are knowingly being an idiot.

EDIT- As for 1gate robo's the replay is a good example of how to defend a 4gate and how to overall execute the BO.


Well, of course you can't get collosus by then. I'm talking about breaking the contain, since 1 gate robo can easily be contained by a 4 gate.

i have tried going sentry after zealot before and it will just die to 1 zealot 1 stalker pressure while warping in pylon below ur ramp. u will have to use ur ff and after which you will have no energy. Normally by 5.40 ur opponent will have 7 units in ur base (1 zealot 6 stalker).

Check out my thread at http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=183231 for 2 gate transition. if u decide to go robo it will be abt 40-50 sec slower but you are much safer against 4 gate. Note that i am still in the mist of testing it to be 4 gate proof.

I actually love 1 gate/robo in PvP. Get 1 zealot, 1 sentry, and 1 stalker. Get the robo. Chrono an immortal out and then get an obs out. All while getting 2 more gates as I get enough mins. I can usually get enough units out to defend the 4 gate.
