Note: Build order is not everything. This deals with 4 gate or close so if you scout anything else this may not be the build you want.

Hi ppl. this is a build i have developed to defend 4 gate (if someone else came up with this before please let me know:D) and in fact it is quite versatile even if your opponent is not 4 gate. You are not sacrificing economy is anyway for this to work.

Build order v1:
9 pylon
13 gateway
15 gas
16 pylon
17 cybernetic Core
18 gateway
19 zealot
22 pylon
23 stalker
26 gas
26 sentry (cb)
29 pylon
29 zealot (cb)
33 stalker (cb)
34 robo or twilight concil or stargate (not sure if this is a good idea though).

In the replays you will see i have made several minute changes to the build order. Rmb build orders are dead, but players aren't.

At ~5.29 you will have 5 units - 2 zealot 2 stalker sentry. After your opponent warp in 4 zealot above your ramp. you will warped in 2 more zealot to defend that.

In no way am I saying this build will stop all 4 gates. But i feel that it has a good transition out of it and safe against the 4 zealot warp-in-over-the-ramp strategy. Though i knew my friend was 4 gating before hand,I believe with scouting that would be obvious too.

1. Tech faster safely

Disadvantages
1. Very little room for error

After defending a 4 gate, opp went robo while i go blink stalker. could have lost the game. This make me rethink my tech path (robo seem to be a safer/solid transtion while SG looks viable as most ppl go robo after failed 4 gate).

on which level of play are you talking about? I personally don't think that this will work against any diamond player.

I myself hate 4gate, but it's the only way that works for me winning if my opponent 4gates (platinum league)

I agree with Markus. You'll be able to defend his first warp in fine, but two warpins later and he'll have a lot more units than you. I would however say that this would probably do pretty well against Korean WG though if you have half decent micro.

hi thks for the comments. I should and will practise more games using this build to see if it can defend a 4 gate after 1/2 more warp in later.

I came with this cause i tried to defend a 4 gate with 3 gate but my good opponent pushed up the ramp at 5:15 min with his first zealot and stalker while warping in 2 pylon below my ramp. It was pretty strong and i not sure if i can defend that without going 4 gate as well.... experiment with 1 gate robo, standard 2 gate robo don't seem to work well against that as well... pvp

i'm talking abt diamond league.. it's just that recently i've been 4 gated often and they are getting better

Any player would like to shed some light on how to defend a well executed 4 gate? Especially those who pushed up your ramp really early with pylon below your ramp.
