Quick question, what kind of composition does a zerg need to destroy the usual protoss comp (stalkers,chargelots, a couple immortals, and collusi) I tried mass roach which didn't work since they couldn't hit the collusi because they were too far away. I also tried ultra/roach. Nothing worked.

b) roach + hydra + corruptor

getting safely to these compositions is the hard part

ATN darkforce commented on a video of his against toss, it was a featured stream from TL so im sure a search would find it.


either
a)muta + ling
b) roach + hydra + corruptor

getting safely to these compositions is the hard part


i think b is the best option, and sets you up for the late game better imo

Usually, it goes roach some hydra and corrupters while working to hive tech and then adding in broodlords. I'm surprised ultra/work did not work though. Depends on the angle which you attack at ultras need a lot of room to work and infestor support helps to stop the protoss army from kiting your ultras.

Thanks, i'm wondering on how option B would work. From what i've seen Hydras are really bad against collusi cuz they get killed to fast. But will try it, thanks.

Mrbitter has some vods of his lessons he gets from machines up on his blip.tv channel, I'll put them below. Basically it's early roaches to defend any 4 gate / 6 gate pressure, then you mix in some hydra and corrupter if colossus come. Hydras do well against immortals, since the protoss will probably have since he sees so much roaches.

They Hydras are used to kill the gateway units. (which they are great at)

worth knowing is also late game composition ultra\hydra\bl and it's ultimate zerg ball.

if you're talking about late game 200/200 armies then roach brood lord destroys. if you're talking mid game then just go muta ling or roach corruptor
I'd rather be mothership rushing in platinum then 4gating in diamond

Additionally, Roaches will naturally take the front, and they can take a lot more damage.

They are the opposite of Hydralisk, and the perfect pairing of unit types.

mid game I'd go with muta/ling, you get map control and can dictate the protoss tech choice. If you go roach/hydra they will go colossi which is deadly and you give up map control because the army is much slower than muta/ling. If you go muta/ling they will try and go HT or phoenix, use this to your advantage and tech switch appropriately to ultra/ling/roach.

It's all personal preference though, roach/hydra is safer and easier to use but like I said once they get colossi, even with corrupters it becomes rather hard to snipe them if they have good micro. With muta/ling, your choices for T3 are a bit easier to obtain because you can take bases at will and a tech switch to ultra is really strong and there isn't much toss can do about it except try and predict this and go immortal. The melee upgrades really shine here as well, going muta/ling with upgrades for melee and carapace transition very well with ultras and even if they get immortals, your lings and mutas will do some serious damage.
