It has come to my attention that most threads in the sc2 strategy section revolve around easily answered questions from topic creators who don't know what the "Search function" is. So, I have come up a plan of action that should help everyone! Instead of thinking "I need help of getting out xxxx league" think "how can i improve my play?" now you're probably wondering "well how do i do that?" easy. day9 dailies! http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=104154 Having trouble with [insert problem here] there is a very strong chance it will be covered. Each daily revolves around a certain issue, which day9 attempts to help resolve for players analyzing and discussing how a pro-gamer deals with it. The dailies are archives on youtube and blip and livestreamed via ustream sunday-thursday most weeks. OR: don't like day9 or can't get enough of the dailies or still need more help/more refined? No problem! Need help with Zerg vs XXXX, Mrbitter http://www.teamliquid.net/video/streams/MrBitter has partnered with Team-EG members and has a stream in which various strategies are discussed (much more specific than day9 dailies) including strategies designed for specific maps. More will be coming soon for additional help for terrans/protosses!

A thread pointing to another thread really doesn't help anyone. Just bump that thread if you want it to get exposure.

day9 dailies have helped me a lot lately. still bronze level, but after watching "the mental checklist" and "drone timing" i started to re-evaluate how i play and got INSTANTLY better. really really good videos

LOL, he's not just trying to bump another thread, at least fucking read his OP before hating like this. He's saying that when noobs post "how do I beat X", they would be much better off watching they day[9] dailies. I don't think that thread really needs a bump, it shows up on top all of the time. I endorse the OP.

This is true for some posts, but some of the posts in here are from mid-high level diamond players that are beyond the basic tips given by Day9. I used to watch day9 dailies all the time, but I definitely I am well beyond the point now where they really help at all.

So Dailies that cover specific strategies are likely to be obsolete.

So Dailies that cover specific strategies are likely to be obsolete. I mostly agree with that in terms of specific strategies, then again whenever a gold-level players asks how do I beat X, watching any daily and just getting better at fundamentals will likely teach them to beat X which is a ton of the threads very recently (winter-break inspired?). And there is a pretty good way of figuring out dailies for specific topics: www.day9fan.com, it's only a brief summary of the replays, but it covers a lot of stuff.
Edit: Also a comment on countering of specific strategies being obsolete, he quite often will go over the thinking behind how to deal with certain strategies so while it might not always give a fish, it will often give you an example of him fishing once.

do you not watch them anymore? still entertaining and you can pick up techniques or tweak yours no matter how good you are.
and since you are obviously not a noob, sharing that the dailies don't help as much anymore doesn't add anything.
that being said, the people who post the stuff OP is referring to, usually dont use search, so what would make them more inclined to be less impulsive with starting help threads? a stickied link at the top of the forum? thats close enough to the search field that i think it would be overlooked too.

Only thing i think that was ever important from the dailies was learning to make pylons and probes all the time and some other things which helped a great deal... Everything else is just pointless or wrong imo and you can totally see that if you watch how pros play on their streams so i think people should just stop asking things / referencing day9 and typing like he talks (honestly his rhetoric is amazing when he uses it, not when you do) and watch some of the featured streamers

lol Sean, stop trying to promote your own dailies you sneaky rascal, oh you.

Typically you need to watch the first couple minutes to see what they are about but if you're struggling with say ZvP you can go to the thread type in "zvp" you will see artosis vs renniehour for example and then he will typically say we will focus on "XXXXXX"

I used to watch day9 dailies all the time, but I definitely I am well beyond the point now where they really help at all. i'm a 3k diamond, i watch day9 dailies for funzies b/c they are funny as hell and every once in a while i'll learn something I didn't know, also, its easy analyzations of replays (I don't have to go dl the replay and look @ every little bit etc, he does it for me). Furthermore, I can tweak strategies look @ different building placements and small stuff like that (I'm a zerg player btw). Unless you are "gosux2" as day9 would say, there is no point to not watch day9 dailies if you got the time to spend--the chance that you will pick something up and become a better player in the 1hr you spent watching his daily as opposed to laddering and getting cheesed for an hour is quite high.
