My play isn't as consistant as I'd like. And I still have issues with specific unit compositions and matchups.

Is this something that still holds true higher up in the ladder?
All matchups are personal. What comp are you using vs protoss? When do you find yourself losing.

I bind together for ease. You have to tab through the groups of structures - rax - fact - port. I tried forcing myself to use 2 keybinds for my production structures but my macro with 1 bind started to improve. For now its doable.

Mid-Late game I have a tendency to forget mules. So what happens is I slap 5-6 mules at once, get a huge mineral spike, feel obligated to add several barracks to catch up... but more often than not it means I'm already several tens of food behind.
Is there anything else than "practice more" that can be said? Are there tricks to develop the macro instinct as terran?
Hotkey spam. Develop a rhythm for your macro.
Practice harass / macro style of play. Alternate quickly between the two. Ideally you want to be macroing while in his base killing workers. Worse case scenario pull your harass back to a safe spot and macro in the distance it takes the unit to move there.
Dont feel too bad about the rain of mules. Thats part of our mechanic as terran players. Energy is stored for a reason.

From my experience zergs who throw in too many infestors while still trying to core banelings as their army dont have the numbers to compete. By the time they get significant amounts of infestors out I'm able to literally tank through their low bane numbers with my medivacs.
In general though you'd want to lean more on marauders / siege tanks as the infestor bane numbers rise.
1 : 2 Rauder to Rine
I'll save my next infestor bane replay

Hey Madison, thanks you for doing this
I got a question: how do you decide when its a good time to push? Looking back at the replay I almost always find myself pushing at the wrong time: if i'd have pushed earlier I'd have easily won. This goes for all matchups, but mostly Tvt and TvZ. Thx for the help

Madison, saw all of your replays, and I gotta say—you're so handsome, it's actually crazy.
But my question: I've been doing the siege expand opening in TvT for a bit now, and I just got out of a game where T dropped 2 medivacs-full of MM while I was containing him over at his natural. Do you go back to defend or all-in into his base?
On a more general level, what do you do when your army is just about in front of his base, but his army is also storming into your base?

Its part of game sense. Something that will develop over time. Watching your replays is a good start you'll know situations you wouldnt have foreseen in game.
General rules to follow - after wiping out an army if you feel like a contain will be beneficial.
If you can outright win.
If your opponent is playing greedy.

Thanks! This is why contains and more specifically contains in tvt are dangerous. If your going to contain you need to set up turrents either along your base or along his perimter. This and maintaining viking control.
In response to your particular situation if your tank heavy I'd suggest going all in. A more bio oriented army might be able to push into his base while moving back to defend. Its really situational though I'd have to see the replay.

Thanks for the response. Makes a lot of sense now as I got some banshees to see if I could harass, but he scanned and quickly built turrets/vikings. He proceeded to drop my undefended main as I was attacking his wall-in with my tanks. I did just all-in into his base, and I ended up winning because he attack-clicked on my escaping CC and I killed his entire drop. But now I know to build them turrets when containing.
By the way, is there a standard build you do in TvT?

Hey Madison first off I'd like to say you're amazing =D
Next, my biggest "problem" match-up is TvZ right now. I'm currently playing on a high plat to low/mid diamond level.
In short I'm somewhat terrified of Zerg on the ladder because everyone seems to be going Muta/Baneling and it crushes most Terran play styles. I really like the idea of playing drop oriented or simply going more bio heavy with tank/medvacs for support yet unfortunately I find that my micro isn't necessarily up-to-par yet with dealing with mass baneling. The result is I end up turtling until I try to take my third where I push. However at this point the Zerg player has been allowed to macro up and although my army wins he instantly rebuilds and crushes me. So to get to my question finally =P, what do you do to turn the tables on the Zerg player and make them play defensively specifically against Muta/baneling? Because I'm solid against roach/hydra and other standard Zerg builds.
Any help you can offer I'd really appreciate many thanks and keep doing what you're doing! =D

Well you basically answered your own question. If your scared to push out pre 3rd your going to let a good zerg outmacro you. The key to prevent power droning is pressure and forcing the zerg to spend larva on units. Learn a 2 base push or early bio aggresion and work on your micro.

TvT is fairly dynamic. In general though any marine - tank - viking / banshee is "standard"

EDIT Wow, somehow I didn't see that this thread had gotten so long.

Hello,
~1800 terran
What do I do against a heavy zealot, HT unit composition? In my most recent tvp we had a 200 food vs 200 food battle and he rolled me with storms. My unit composition was marauder heavy with 6-7 med vacs ghosts, some tanks and 2 preignitor hellions.
Thanks in advance, Arthur

Well in general its hard to answer questions like this. I dont know the circumstances surrounding your composition or his. With "proper" micro you should be able to win a 200 200 fight unless you miss all your emps.
That being said I tend to favor banshee bio play in the midgame assuming he rushed for templar I'd be fighting his lot heavy pre storm HT army with a heavy marine / banhsee composition.

thanks for the replays, but are you planning to stream your games?!!
|
Thanks for making this Q & A. I had always wanted to see a TvT matchup with MMM, Tanks, Vikings versus a MMM, Ravens, Vikings. Personally, I favour the MMMRV composition, as Ravens can potentially screw up your positioning with Auto Turrets and SM, and they are mobile and very good for harassment. I saw this on GREENPINE VS BOB and FRUITSELLER VS MAKAPRIME and OGSTHEWIND VS TERRAN. All are available on Youtube I think.
Anybody got any replays or comments?
Also, I would also like to see some more replays with heavy Raven usage against any race. Post if you have them!

Can you type a little about terran in 2vs2?
