Well in general its hard to answer questions like this. I dont know the circumstances surrounding your composition or his. With "proper" micro you should be able to win a 200 200 fight unless you miss all your emps.
That being said I tend to favor banshee bio play in the midgame assuming he rushed for templar I'd be fighting his lot heavy pre storm HT army with a heavy marine / banhsee composition.

I do the same thing, but most protoss just wait for you to some near, and feedback your banshees. Then their one-three stalkers can pick them off. I've even gone dual fac, one with reactor and tech lab to pump hellions as thats the best counter I've come up with. It's just protoss upgrades scale so ridiculously strong and so easy to get. When they're on 2 bases, what else is their chrono for? They can PUMMMMMMPPPP upgrades like no tomorrow. I'm not the best EMP'er, but it's hard to be so aggressive against zeal/ht/collsai (1-2 of em for fear factor)
I'm also a marine banshee user, but the transition is the hardest part. Once the zeals get to like 2/0/2 with HT behind em, 3/3 infan is garbage. Tanks are garbage. Unless I just straight pump ghost hellion marine and just snipe snipe snipe snipe snipe snipe for the best after an EMP hoping to clear SOME zealots out?
