ghost+banshee TvT?

So, havnt been able to play the game for a few weeks due to travels so was thinking today about what to try once i get back.. And i thought of ghost+banshee. Its a very gas heavy build so would obviously take a while to get into order but when playing against another terran he wont have much to detect cloaking units (obivously unless he scouts ur build, which is although rather likely) besides his scan. So I thought, when you bring the ghost into the play you can just EMP his command center and you will most likely have time to bring down a tech lab before he is able to pop out a raven. Havnt tried this at all and im very unlikely the first to think of it but any thoughts if this is completely retarded or might be of some use? dno, might have to clarify this better.

I can't see how you would hold off any attacks. Whether your opponent goes heavy infantry, tank/infantry or viking/tank, you're going to lose since you can't EMP his CC when he's attacking you. Even if you do hold of early pressure, you'd have to have two dropships so you could hit both CCs with EMP. It'd be so gas intensive and require lots of micro, I can't see it being that good against any of the standard builds used in TvT.

Why dont you just build 2 banshees, and have them attack different areas?

You'll have tons of minerals to make oodles of marines or hellions to hold off attacks. I just don't see where you're gonna GET all that gas. Banshee rushing w/ cloak is already wrecking your gas income. Ghost+ghost cloak added onto that? I just don't see it getting any timing window before they get turrets cause you have a starport with a tech lab and a ghost academy.

My friend has a very vicious build TVT. I think its what pros might use sometimes.
He makes a viking while making a siege tank.
Then swaps the factory to build a tech lab, while the Starport takes the factory tech lab.
This enables him to have 1 raven and 1 Viking right about the time they come in with their banchee! How awesome is it to save a scan for cloak, and not to be overwhelmed with lots of bancheese! How awesome is it to start the viking wars off with a Raven to support. The raven is worth like 2+ vikings if it gets PDD down. And if you got full air dominance with Vikings, Turret can put a little hurt on the ground. The Raven is like free because your opponent spent money on cloak trying to cheese you.

Now for your build, people who get ASAP ravens shut down bancheesery. Bancheese can get you diamond in ladder, but eventually when you get to standard play, its countered more often than it works. And the counter that stopped it didn't cost them anything in the long run to produce

In TLOwnage TLO did almost what you said, he rushed to ghosts then EMPd the orbital comand but instead of getting banshees he just nukes them. Most pimp sc2 play I ever saw.
