I made a map.

152 x 152
14 regular bases
2 gold bases

EU | NA | KR


All spawns enabled. Creep blocks the in-base natural expansion. Tumor can be destroyed by the rock tower without detection. Reaper scouting is 52 to 62 seconds.

As for the map, well it looks original and innovative to say the least. Even though if I understand well Terran is the only race that can apply early pressure to the opponent through Reapers.

Very strong BW aesthetics . Maybe its just that super narrow path from the natural to the third that you never see nowadays.

I am always amazed how much you're able to achieve just with texturing. And water

The creep idea is nice and interesting but I don't really like it. Z can just expand so far so good. T can kill rocks with units (or scan [maybe even build a turret if that has enough detection range?]) to kill the tumor and clear the creep. If they kill the rocks they can still pre-build the CC and the float it over. But what does P do if they kill the rocks? Either kill a second layer of rocks or use warp prism. This may not be as big of a problem depending on how long it takes for the creep to go back far enough to clear the base.
I feel like killing the rock tower to kill the creep tumor is almost always the worst choice. On the contrary it limits possible builds (no more nexus first as a prime example). I would expect a stargate (Oracle for detection and soon after harass) opening to be used mostly. On top of that robo is only useful for obs/collosi especially because it's an island map and protoss ground will largely be useless (besides with warp prism harass/warp in). If it wasn't an island map, your idea might work out better or at least not be as limiting?

Anyway I am no expert with my < 20 posts, at least the map looks great!

This is true. However, the rock tower can also be used against you by harassing units later. You may have noticed that there are lots of places where Stalkers can blink across, so stalker-heavy compositions are somewhat viable. You won't be able to open Nexus first, but if you want to delay an Observer for a faster Warp Prism or Stargate, then taking the tower and the rocks down with Stalkers may be a good idea.

(Turret detection range is not enough btw.)

New version (see first post for picture) with the following changes:
  • Lowered the water; it was covering the low ground which looked awful on lowest settings with opaque water.
  • Made the natural a full base.
  • Slightly moved the tumor so creep recedes from the natural more quickly.
  • Removed the forcefields at the 12/6 o'clock bases.
  • Made the middle bases golds and blocked them with rocks.

Also, turrets can in fact detect the creep tumor. So for P and T, if you don't want to stay on one base for a considerable period of time you have several options:
  • Protoss: Forge → Cannon
    The quickest economical way to get rid of the tumor. Cannons stay useful throughout the game on an island map. Doesn't remove the rock tower. A good spot to put the cannon in PvT would be right next to the reaper entrance.

  • Protoss: Gateway → Zealot
    One zealot takes 60 game seconds to break down the rock tower. Allows for an early stargate and the zealot can start working on the debris at the ramp quickly so you won't have to worry about it later.

  • Protoss: Pull probes
    Six probes take 60 game seconds to break down the rock tower. Probably not worth the lost mining time.

  • Terran: E-bay → Turret
    The quickest economical way to get rid of the tumor. Turrets stay useful throughout the game on an island map. Doesn't remove the rock tower.

  • Terran: Pull SCVs
    Six SCVs take 60 game seconds to break down the rock tower. Probably not worth the lost mining time.

  • Terran: Barracks → Orbital → Scan
    Probably the most economic opening; doesn't remove the rock tower. Two SCVs can kill the tumor before the scan runs out.

  • Terran: CC → Float to other island
    The big issue with this is that you don't know where your opponent spawns since you need a reaper or flying unit to scout. Also, defending against quick oracles or mutas will be difficult with separate bases.
