Notes:
My submission to the Map-ximum Map Contest. This is a major overhaul, both aesthetically and gameplay-wise, of the Original Sol Dios, though the bulk of the changes are aesthetic, which got a complete overhaul - see the many pictures.

After looking many times at the main picture and then at the picture in the changelog spoiler, I've come to the conclusion that I don't see the difference between the old Sol Dios and Neo Sol Dios

The 4/5 bases are now open to the center pathway, instead of there being a single connection at the bottom right. Other than that the layout looks basically the same.

That's not the old map, check the link in the map notes. There are several small adjustments to pathable areas, the most notable probably being the area behind the third base hugging the main, which is now more constricted for things like Blink. Also no Xel'Naga Tower, and the main path change NegativeZero mentioned.

It looks like it's mainly an aesthetic facelift.

I don't care if it's not in the next MotM, it already won once. This is mainly for the Map-ximum contest. I felt the changes were big enough that updating an old thread wasn't quite good enough.

Very nice improvements to what's already an awesome map. For the folks who can't see the differences other than textures, the biggest change is the bottom right quadrant -- the pathing is heavily modified to address peoples' concerns regarding flank opportunities for Zerg and the Xel'Naga tower has been removed. The mains are also marginally larger than they were before.

One other change I didn't mention, the rock tower that blocks the island base is accessible from the low ground. The force field in front of it is just LoS blockers. Nearly the whole map is at least slightly changed too, but it's nothing major aside from a few key points. Think of it like Neo Planet S vs. the original.
