hey everyone. i've searched for a thread/guide but all i got was 2 BW guides, so i decided i request one :p.
Myself: Im a high master Zerg player who's looking to become a map maker and create some maps that hopefully will be cool!
I've tried using the SC2Editor, but i really have only very basic knowledge.
What i Request: I need someone/something (link, guide.,etc) to help me understand the SC2Editor so i can get started, I'm not looking for help on map balance or similar, just how to use the editor.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Note for Mods: if i overlooked a similar thread/guide feel free to delete this.

Wait what are you looking for?
The map editor is split up into very distinct sections. If you want to create melee maps (no custom units or campaign scenarios or anything like that) then all you need to deal with is the map editor part.
Blizzard released a tutorial on how to make maps. The first 2 sections will be relevant to you and easy. The other sections are irrelevant to melee maps. Part 1 Terrain (cliffs, hills, water, etc) Part 2 Doodads (trees, rocks, etc)
If you want to make melee maps I would suggest just skim reading the above and then creating many new maps with the smallest size available (tiny) and just mucking around creating lava scenes, jungle scenes, desert scenes etc.
Then you can go about creating a proper map.

If you're looking to make anything but melee maps, SC2Mapster is where you want to be.
