Inspired by the huge improvement in my mechanics I felt I needed to create a better multitask trainer, however once I had started trying to learn the editor I realized that it would take me a long time to learn that thing from scratch. So I thought I'd ask here for someone to make my dream into a reality. If no one is prepared to start work on this custom game I'll just have to take the bull by the horns and do it myself.
This is how I imagine this multitask trainer to work.
- There will be something similar to proberto as found in the Multitask Trainer 0.95. It's basically a worker unit being chased by a zergling. The speed is set so that the zergling will only bite it once it makes a turn and take a chunk off of the probe's shield. The shield has time to regenerate by the time the probe has to take the next turn. You can't queue up movement commands on this probe.
- Minimap awareness is something I found lacking in the original multitask trainer. So for this one I have some ideas. An example would be medivacs spawning at random intervals from 3-4 set locations. At each location there will be a neutral stalker that you must manually control to one-shot the passing medivacs. The actual medivacs do nothing but fly past the stalker and then de-spawn if the player fails to kill it in time.
- Another way of practising minimap awareness in this trainer would be a flashing light or something on the minimap. To get rid of it you must look at the location on the map with your camera for a moment. You'll have 8 seconds or something like that to do it.
- Defending light harass. This harass isn't meant to do devastating damage or anything like that. It's simply to get better at multitasking. At random intervals (after a few minutes so that anti air can be built) 2 banshees or 2 reapers will come into your mineral lines.
- A big enough area to allow for epic creep spreading.
- Transporting a unit via overlord/medivac/warpprism to a specific spot on the map. Maybe the drop off point would alternate randomly between 2-3 places to keep you focusing. The unit will respawn at random intervals.
- Some sort of warning when your resources/energy are getting too high. However the game won't end or anything, that would be counter-productive.
- Reset button. Very important!
- Maybe something that forces the player to keep expanding to keep the macro challenging.
There will be no set timer or a way of victory. Nor will there be any set amount of allowed mistakes. It will solely be a way of improving your multitasking skills and mechanics.
Thanks for reading and I hope you'll consider working on this multitask trainer. ♥
