That video was made in June, any news on act 2? OMG this is so epic. I remember back in the day I could perfect run the first 2 stages of Metal Slug 2. I would be really happy if you added in a "hardcore" mode where like the first metal slug games it was one hit kill and you couldn't swap weapons.

Yeah those were the days... I could do contra without dying and I used to run through most of the stages of mario holding 'b' (run) button.

After playing the game I have to say the only thing holding it back would be the size of the bullets. The original Metal Slug had bullets that were clearly visible against the background. Here sometimes it just all blends together. I'm not too keen on the controls either, but that's preference. There's also something about it that feels slower than the original metal slug. Not as snappy you know? Like when you're using a mac after using windows for a while (think back to win2k vs a mac). Windows just felt a lot snappier and faster (I think this had to do with windows opening and drawing a frame before all the contents of the frame were loaded).

Both, IIRC there was a level in Metal Slug 4 that allowed you to choose between fighting mummies and zombies and you would turn into them if you got hit by their attacks. Naturally zerg is pretty suited to represent the zombies while protoss would represent the mummies. If you could remake the classic 2nd level from metal slug 2 (the one with the mummies where you're jumping up a pillar and killing the boss that is climbing up the pillar) that would be fantastic. Fighting the giant excavator was a ton of fun. Then again when you turned into a zombie in Metal Slug 4 you had this awesome attack where your bombs were replaced with you vomiting blood ALL OVER THE SCREEN.
Here's the giant excavator fight. Probably one of my favorites.
