I've been looking through the data editor for 2 days now, but I can't seem to find the casting target location for photon overcharge, or "purify nexus" as it's called sometimes. I was hoping to make a mod where I could change it from pylons to other units, but if I can't find the target, I can't change it. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Is it even in there? Mothership Core still specifies the Nexus having photon overcharge, even though I'm using LOTV dependencies.

There is a different Mothership Core in the Void Multi (Mod) dependancy from the regular Void (Mod). Try replacing your void mod with void multi mod. You might need to save and close and reopen your map file. You should then be able to see that the Validator for the Apply Purify (AB) effect is set to Is Pylon.

Questions:

How can you create a building or a trigger that creates groups of units periodically?
For example, a nydus worm-like warp gate?
Is it possible to add units to these groups using upgrades? If so, how?

Hey all!

I'm trying to use the map editor on my laptop, but whenever I have the unit palette selected, the entire map view goes black, and fills with a preview of the selected unit. So if I have a Command Center selected, the whole map view is filled with a picture of a command center. It flickers to to actual map sometimes, and I can still place units (I hear the sound and see it when the map flashes up).

I assume this is a bizarre settings issue. It's a brand new install on a new arcade mode map. I have the Void dependency loaded with the campaign data. when I save the map, the messages window throws "Warning: Light entry 'PurifierJungle' defined for texture set 'PurifierJungle' is not valid. Minimap may be black!" in green text. However, minimap looks fine, it's the main view that's behaving oddly.

Anyone know how to fix it?

I was able to fix it by opening up my NVidia Control Panel and forcing the editor to run on the Integrated Graphics. Looks like it's definitely a gpu driver/compatibility issue. But this'll work in the meantime. Thanks for your help!

Second question: How do I use dropbox to work on a map from multiple computers? I keep getting an error when I save that says the folder isn't empty.

Hi, is there anyone here with experience uploading a map to China? Ran into a technical issue on editor. When we sent our map to our China friend and when he tried to published it, dependency keeps giving a core:file not found even though he has everything. Is there any differences between the editors? We have also added the Chinese language under locale.

Hello everyone, and/or who ever reads this. And thank you in advance.

I have a few questions about the galaxy editor. Been messing with it over the past weeks but still can't figure out how to do a few things. The first two, I would hope I can do this without using triggers (but that might be the easiest way). I tried looking at a king of the hill mod example, but I was confused to make it work the way I wanted .

1) I want to modify the Xel'nagal watch towers so by default, it reveals the area to both players until a player sends a non-worker ground unit to take control of the watch towers. The watch tower stays under the player control unless left alone for 60 seconds, in which it would either revert to default or be taken control by the other player. Ideally, I would want a visual cues to help notify players when it reverts to default.

2) Following the same idea from above, I want to create a neutral structure a player can claim (maybe the Xel'nagal watch towers so I avoid the animation & sounds process) . A player can control the neurtal structure by sending around ~10 supply worth of non-worker ground units to the area for 30 undisputive seconds (a.k.a, opponent does not have units inside the area as well). The timer will only reset once the player has no units in the area, otherwise, the timer will pasue. The mechanics would be similar to king of the hill style but it'll will just be a feature for a regular melee map.

3) How do I make the Siege Tank (Siege Mode) morph back to Tank Mode when loaded/picked up by the Medivac?

4) I want to make an upgrade for the Banshee that gives them basic turret tracking (they will fly while still facing their target) and enables them to fire on the move (like the Phoenix). How do I do that?

5) Lastly, how do I change the Reaper so it's movement behaves like an air unit, so I can make them slow down when they attack.

I went to publish a map that I converted from HotS to LotV. It took several attempts because it said I was missing a dependency (??), and when it worked I didn't actually change anything. The editor started spitting error messages at me:

but for some reason the map did get published this time around. I decided to test the map. The thumbnail showed that all the mineral fields were gold, but the map did seem to work (and the mineral fields were blue). Should I be worried?

Check out the lighting of the map, to me it looks like somehow the map got one of these unit portrait lighting instead of the standard starship one.

This is happening on all my maps including the ones I didn't change the lighting at all, but yeah I'll check in a few hours and update this post.

I was just editing my map and suddenly all the cliff textures turned black all by themselves! What is happening? And its not just in the editor, it looks the same way in game.
Here is a picture:

This happened when I was just raising the cliff level at some other point of the map. All cliff textures suddenly became this black garbage. Help? Please?
