I voted and stand by that 2004 iloveoov was probably the most dominant player. Nobody ever graced or ungraced the StarCraft world in macro. People just could not keep up. Beast in all matchups.
Do your best, God will do the rest.

Hahah you guys are fuckin high. I bet some of the top ranked ICCUP players would eat 2001 boxer for breakfast, the skill level has just gone up so dramatically with time, and if you don't see it, you're somebody who watches too many games and plays too few. 2007 Bisu easily.

...how did a poll about a time machine tournament end up being so bastardized.

If the Poll maker wanted "Most Dominant Player of their Era", I think he would have put something along the lines of "Most Dominant Player of their Era?" as the question.

How people can toss aside NaDa so easily is beyond me. Quirky play factor? You're thinking of NaDa in the post Panasonic OSL era. Do not do so. NaDa in his prime was quite possibly the most lethal force gaming has ever seen. Only Oov and Savior have seen comparable win percentages at their heights, but NaDa's dominance shows other important features: his reign as the #1 ranked player lasted longer and he did this at a time where there was a lot more experimentation with style, thus it was harder to practice for a match-up. That second argument can also be used for 2001 Boxer, but while Boxer stormed onto the scene in such an impressive way, Boxer had the inconsistency that many of you attribute to NaDa. The only time Boxer looked TRULY unbeatable was during the Game-Q World Championships. In two tournaments back-to-back (Game-Q and one other), he lost only TWO GAMES. Not matches, GAMES! I think this was even before 1.08 was released yet! Terran was weaker before the patch than after...
Even though this Proleague bullshit has been completely bogus, I really, really, really do not see how Khan can lose this. I swear I will kill myself if they do. - nesix before KHAN lost to eNature

Yes definitely, I concur. In terms of pure relative domination, oov is the most obvious choice, no question.

I only say change it to KT-KTF because it's a more modern standard. On the whole I think NaDa's dominance during 2002 was fucking ridiculous. A grand slam. 1st in all 3 leagues. MBC(KPGA), OSL , GHEMTV. Hotness.

Then, he comes back and wins the Golden Mouse. So yeah, I have a hard time with not giving NaDa #1. Then again, I haven't been around as much lately.

Another factor, when NaDa played all match series were played on that single day, so there wasn't this bullshit about spreading it out for 3 weeks lol. I still remember that insane shit of best of 7 MSL with GoRush.

Could we change it to, KT-KTF NaDa? You know, 16-1 NaDa? K THX

boxer will pwn everybody :D but thats not wat ppl likes to watch him thought, the real reason y ppl love boxer its becuz of the amazing plays by him even though he loses and not just that boxer shows that no1 is unstoppable and everybody has a weakness

edit: but actually i dont think boxer real prime was on 2001, 2001 was his dominant year but after like 2003-2006 he showed amazing games and beat quite alot of ppl

-_- @ Boxer voters. What's he going to do, lockdown Bisu's Arbiters while his whole base gets run down by a massive army? Or destroy a Zerg's one hatchery with his "pimp" micro, while he's forced to lift his buildings since the swarm is razing his base?

way to degrade one of the greatest players in e-sports history. in case you didn't notice, you can dominate starcraft in many different ways. you can't just assume that the latest trends are the best and counter all that preceded them. in 2001, boxer dominated with his brilliant micro, and today early game tends to be buildup for both sides, and mid-late game being where players diverge. this does not however mean that boxer in 2001 would get slammed today. look at stork vs iris semis, where iris chose an oldschool strat 3x in a row and crushed stork with ease, who had like 83% vs t or something. also look at the lack of dropship protection nowadays in pvt... and of course a micro style tvz is viable even today, just not as much since the muta overlord trick. you really show so much disrespect...

another understanding of this poll might be 'time machine winner' meaning that one of those great players had so much advantage over others that he seemed like 'came from the future' differing in skill very much from the players of his days of course. i.e. if savior owned all 3:0 he is more a candidate to come from the future than boxer playing close games with all (just example, not a fact)

Seriously the pools are going worse and worse lately...

I just love it how ppl come down on boxer 24/7, at his best, in 2001 boxer would've beaten savior aswell as bisu and all the stupid noob players, you guys are just so jealous boxers still in top of his fame after like 6-7 years of fame. learn to live with it noobs, or do it better yourselves.
