I like watching rising talent take on the best players, so it's a mix of both lol

This is a poorly worded poll. It should be between "best" and "favorite".

Personal favorites are always more interesting to follow than just following whoever is the best.
Being emotionally invested in a player makes the games so much more enjoyable to watch.
So I chose the national option.

That's true, but sometimes it makes watching games worse MMA, DRG, and Squirtle are my favorite players. MMA went in a slump, DRG is in a slump, and Squirtle... watching him place 2nd so many times is just terrible for me.
hmm... let's think about it

I always prefer new players that have likable new styles. Vortix, for example.

I'm going to go with rising talent here. My opinion on that has changed in the last year or so, as I used to be very much in favor of giving spotlight to the top players only.

The thing is that I am so rarely impressed by the "best" players. If I have to watch a mistake-ridden, mechanically mediocre play anyway, the slight differences in quality and level of play don't really matter.

Favourite players > Best players > Rising players

But frankly, a combination of the three is always the best. That's why semi-invite semi-open systems seem to work well.

I prefer watching the best of the best, but I appreciate some tournaments showing rising talent versus the best. I would be happiest if both types of tournaments existed with the majority of them skewed towards showing the best versus the best.

I'm not, but how are koreans supposed to differentiate between the two?

There's not much rising talent in Denmark anyway. Everyone except BabyKnight will likely get roflstomped.

In any case I always prefer the tournament with the highest caliber of players possible. Which is why I will probably be less psyched for the actual world championship than I was for the Korean qualifier.

I'll usually prefer a bunch of gosu Koreans, but WCS NA has been a nice change of pace.

Both, but considering there seems to be plenty of outlets for the best of the best, I chose the up and comer option.

I also chose to ignore the home nationality part when choosing the up and comer part. Whether the up and comer is Korean/Polish/NA/Chinese/Martian, whatever, it's always fun to watch a player grow from invisibility to the spotlight. Ex: I've loved following Taeja and Crank since the early days of the Taeja Korean Weekly.
