Only rednecks and idiots would tune out once the Koreans took top 6.

This. Also turned it off at that point. Tuned back in a bit later, but siege lines everywhere and turned it off again. Had nothing to do with the Koreans, only to do with their choice of race

TvT is IMO the most boring matchup in all of starcraft. ZvZ is sooooo intense and quite the opposite of TvT and PvP evolved to something more macroish since the warp gate nerf.

the fact is if the final was say, huk vs mvp, viewers would have been 10x as interested.

The problem is we see korean vs korean every week on gsl.

we love the drama of forgeiners taking on the korean overlords.

also, so many t v ts did not help things.

The only problem I had was that almost every time I tuned in, it was a tvt. The only protoss that I've seen playing was whitera against select. It was probably just bad luck but still anoying.

The fact that everything was TvT hurt my interest more than the fact that they were korean.

I stopped watching when it was 5T 1Z left. I was tired and it seemed there would be too much tvt for my taste ahead. If one of the terrans left was foreign, I prolly still would've skipped.

All-in-all it has started to seem like there's clear cap between koreans and foreign. I'd be happy to cheer for foreigners here, since there already is the real championship in Korea (GSL). I don't think it's weird to have part of own interest in seeing "someone else" winning for a change. Slowly starting to agree on why NASL tried to keep koreans down in the first place - it might sometimes eat the interest a bit when it turns out there's nobody who has chance against koreans who turn up.

I guess bigger problem was that we didn't see almost any foreigners on sunday. I'd have wished to see idra v nani and similar sets from red stream, but of course tight schedule doesn't really allow all good to be shown.

I hope bomber/mvp will be the only invited terrans for raleigh Likelihood for koreans continueing to smash faces is high, so would be nice to try to balance the top players' races by inviting best of protoss/zergs in future too. DRG was great invite this time though.

Korean v Korean is fine, but for me once all the protoss players are out i start losing interest as i play protoss. the only other players that i really like are idra and jinro, and they didn't get too far either

Not really, I mean I was still very interested, just if there had been a non-korea I'd have been ultra pumped. Was ok though, still had boxer to root for.

I really enjoyed watching it, but I'd appreciate in future if MLG could diversify the races of the Korean players they invite. DRG was spectacular, he was a treat to watch, but even his excellent ZvT couldn't break every Terran.

I realise this time might have been a bit different, since MMA had to be invited back to defend his title as reigning champion, but next time I'd really like to see 2 Protoss, one Zerg and one Terran (obviously MVP since he won). Or something like that, anything but three Terrans, even as a Terran player it gets hard to watch TvT after a while.

So far at least one the Korean invitees has won an MLG (MMA @ Columbus and MVP @ Anaheim). So inviting three Korean Terrans massively stacks the odds that a Terran will win in the end.

Great tournament and I look forward to the next MLG

Korean vs Korean didn't bother me at all. I expect the best players to be Korean. What made me disinterested and turn off the MLG is when all the remaining players were Terran. I don't like watching mirror match after mirror match after mirror match. It gets boring and just makes me scream "TERRAN IS OP"

I was very excited to watch the games, as I knew they would be of mind-blowingly high caliber, but I did feel a little bit of a "loss of interest" in a certain way. I think it is kind of deflating once the "can one of the foreigners really do it?!?" story line dies--especially since it would be so awesome to see a foreigner get placed into code s.

TL;DR: Didn't lose interest in the game play, but a little disappointed at the loss of the foreigner-underdog storyline.

I think most people like to watch one race in particular, over the other two.
Even if that doesnt mean that they like to watch one race exclusivly, it does mean that they only get "hyped" if the race they like to watch is represented.

So in my opinion its very understandable that about 2/3 of the people watching lose interest once their race is not represented any longer in the top 6.

Even a mirror finals can turn alot of people away at times unless there are some interesting personalities clashing.

As for the nationalities I don't think it matters that much but I understand if some people have trouble geting the same connection to personalities that doesnt speak their language. They simply cant make the same impression as easilly (not to say its impossible, there definitly are some koreans that have huge fanbases due to their personality outside of korea.).

I dont care where the players are from as long as they are good, but the finals being at nighttime AND a crap ton of tvt´s made me go to sleep instead of watching.

It is fun to sometimes root for a nationality or a personal favorite player to do well but I mostly just want to see the best players play so I didn't mind how it turned out.

ah real reason isnt in the pool: "No, but the last few games were between 2-5am, so i didnt watch like 90% of the tournament"

i chose "No, but so many TvTs did ", since TvT's are boring to watch, was pretty interesting to see GSL finals with a zvz, since i never saw zvz before

I'm more concerned about seeing a bunch of TvT at the final stage of every tournament
