I'm less interested in foreign players than korean players. I want to watch the best and i'm glad that they go to foreign events.

I picked "yes, very much" because all those koreans made it even more interesting.

All Korean finals didn't affect my interest one way or the other, but pure TvT finals did. I don't mind a mirror match or two, but I'd seen so much terran play already (and most of it pure mech) that I pretty much tuned out after DongRaeGu got knocked out.

i like seeing koreans play against koreans, because its high level play, sure i would like some foreigners be up there too but whatcha gna do if they dont make it there. anyone who doesnt appreciate tvt doesnt understand the game that well since imho it is very interesting, if you disclude bo wins. if koreans win is it MLG´s fault? should they rig the matches? lol

I play Terran and didn't even watch the finals because I was sick of TvT. Watching Boxer is cool, but I couldn't care less about MVP or MMA. I'd strongly prefer seeing more non-Korean players in the late stages of tournaments because I know them better -- the Koreans are, for the most part, just faceless names to me. However, it's up to the players themselves to earn those spots and not the tournament organizers' responsibility to enforce some kind of starcraft affirmative action.

How the hell can MMA or MVP be faceless names to you? Was Anaheim the first tournament you EVER watched?

I was mainly bothered by the TvT. Got so so bored of it that i simply stopped watching. It is an interesting matchup to play, but imo awful to watch, i find it too slow paced.

I didnt even bother to watch after the last foreigner was knocked out. I have no interest in Korean players at all.

Right now, the big storyline for me is Foreigner vs Korean. I'm emotionally invested in that. I want to see a great foreigner hero rise up and slay the beasts from the Far East.

When the foreigners fell out of the running, my interest just wasn't the same.

For me, yes it did affect my interest in a negative way. Not so much that they're korean but that it is generally harder to get a feeling for who they are apart from really good players. With that I mean players like IdrA, iNcontrol, Sheth and even naniwa appear on shows, talk to the community, streams where they interact with viewers etc.
This makes them easier to develop a "relationship" with and by "relationship" I don't mean that I keep secret pictures of them but more that I get a feeling for who they are as persons which in turns makes it easier to route for them.
And in regards to some other poster above yes even though I've seen the big korean names play plenty of times, it's still hard to connect with them because partly the language barrier and also they don't expose themselves in the same manner as foreigners.

Also - TvTs.After Boxer vs Rain series I felt I had watched it all so when DRG got eliminated, so did my interest.

Once I realised it was TvT and Boxer was eliminated I did something else instead of watching the finals. I don't like any of the mirror match-ups, ZvZ is the most fun of them (both to watch and play).

Made me kinda sad.

Also, I always have a hard time being interested in the finals of a double elim tournament where things are SO HEAVILY slanted towards the winner bracket player. I get that they deserve an advantage, but it still bugs me how far behind the other player is - need to win a BO3 just to play another BO3 D Or is it win a bo3 so it can turn into an extended bo7? I kinda liked Homestory cup's BO7 with a 1-0 advantage to the winners bracket player. It's my only beef with double-elim tournaments - the finals always feel awkward.

What the fuck does Nationality matter? This whole topic/question seems racist IMHO. This topic is resurrected at every major tourney involving Koreans.

Does it matter if the players are from the Ukraine, Sweden, Korea, USA, Canada or fucking New Guinea for that matter?

NOOOOOOOOOOO! IT DOESNT MATTER FOR SHIT.

edit: And if you think TvT is boring, then just admit to yourself that Starcraft probably isn't for you. It's not for everyone. Games take a while to start up and the first action is often the last action. Thus is the nature of the game. If one isn't tuned in to the subtleties of the players builds, a SC game could be seen as a long waiting game.

I agree with every word of this post. EVERY WORD.

I don't see how you could be upset with all the TvTs. Boxer vs Rain was one of the most exciting matches I've seen in a while. Even when they were both maxed with air units just flying back and forth, I found myself enthralled. I guess whiners gonna whine.

Nationality matters in pretty much every sport, so why not e-sports as well?

People calling it "racist" blow my mind.

I voted for yes very much by accident because I misread the poll. I would've voted for one of the no options.
