If they bring down the price under 10 bucks, yes. 30 $ for VODs and 20 $ for stream ? No fucking way !

Further proof that Blizzard just throws the word "esports" around for PR.

This is complete bullshit, weirdest move on their part. If the games even vods are available by paying for them then they'll lose a lot of people and it's a start of SC2 and they already go for this absurd ))

It's laughable. There will be people who'll upload videos on youtube and that's it.

I would pay something, but 50$ for just one event is outrageous. It fair for a host of a big tournament to charge money for watching the games. But who decided that 50 would be a reasonable price? Even the ESL have a better price system (around 2$ for a month with approx. 2 - 3 shows a week).
Did GOM not have the same fiasco with there last Season?

Not at all.
This seems like as much of a recipe for failure as C&C4. I don't see this working at all.

EU Football Champions League, Europa League, Italian Calcio + cup, Spanish La lega + cup, English FA cup, Football World Cup and qualifying matches, Basketball World Cup and qualifying matches, Handball World Cup, NBA, All grand slam Tennis championships and many others, Asia/Africa Champions League and Cups, Euro championships and qualifying matches, Coppa America, AFC cup of nations and qualifying matches, Asia Football Cup and qualifying matches, Rugby, Cricket, Handball and hell even the Super Bowl final and lots of other sports that I don't care about.

All of those cost me 50$ a year, and the contracts to get those for the TV station is sure much much more expensive than the total amount of the prizes and costs for holding that tournament. It's just hell ridiculous that Blizzard is expecting people to pay that much for 1 tournament, it's pretty much as ridiculous as asking people to pay to watch BlizzCon online.

As people above said: Blizzard is abusing "eSports" for PR.
Watch the minimap.

Bwahaha this. And to think, players will probably drop/ lag anyway since there is no LAN in SC2.

Omg people are cheap.
I voted maybe and the reason for this is that even though I would gladly pay a monthly subscription fee to watch some high quality e-Sports, I have my reservations about the quality of the stream. I pay to watch TV as well and that doesn't bother me, but the production quality and picture resolution is much higher than 500k.

The people who categorically stated that they won't pay to watch people play a video game or clinging to the days of yonder where everything was free and only hardcore nerds bothered to watch shouldn't be allowed to watch e-Sports.
People keep yelling at Gretech and Blizzard that they only want money and that this isn't going to grow the community. You all seem to want a great e-Sports scene but refuse to do ANYTHING yourselves. Like little kids only thinking about yourselves and what everyone else should be doing for you. Valid points are the price being too high and the quality being too low, but as for not wanting to contribute to e-Sports one day being big everywhere like it is in Korea, then go and watch football.

The main difference is, this is WAY more than anyone pays for TV. This is more per month then I pay for TV, Internet and phone. In 3 months of watching this I could have bout the game twice. Day9 will pay it so I will just watch the dailys.

Considering Blizzard is using GOMTV to run their esports in Korea. I'd say it is unlikely Blizzard has nothing to do with it.

I can't help but compare the price to the price of Day9 dailies... Sure the production value may not be on par with what GOM can muster. But the quality of casting and entertainment value will undoubtedly surpass Tasteless "look at the pandabearguy" and Artosis "nerf everything but me".

I would never spend money on GOMTV without donating at least the same amount to Day9 first, because of the amazing job he is doing for free.
