If you cant watch it, you dont see ads either. Which results in them not making money at all from people that would like to watch it. There is no way the people that will actually pay for it will make as much money as if it was free + with ads. What they must understand is that their actual foreign audience have a big number here on TL, people that are interested in this (I mean it wont be WoW players that really wait this) and numbers show no more than 5% are willing to pay for it. They would be far better with a shitload of ads (even if that would actually anoys me too but well...) and free stream, maybe 10-15$ for quality or some bonuses. I dont know, make maps with ads on the terrain... This is a very bad move too since this is the first tournament, if it is shit for 50$ there will be absolutly nobody for the next. I really think we dont have every informations or their marketing director is to be fired they will be losing potential money for this, now or for the future, they should be trying to grow their foreign audience not trying to reduce it. Just get Ads for international companies (Coca, computers parts...). | ||

and the more of us that don't buy it, the more likely it is that they'll take huge losses on this tournament and realize that in order to turn a profit they need to follow the more conventional and less retarded route of a free stream with advertisements, and offer a truly high quality stream for a small price. looking at this poll, that's what they're going to have to do. they aren't going to make nearly as much money as they could just with a free stream with advertisements. only 3% of tl members who voted are going to pay for it. and those 3% are probably going to be just about the only ones anywhere who pay for it. tl members are the most dedicated starcraft fans, and only the most dedicated fans would pay 20 dollars to watch a tournament. if tl members won't pay for it, nobody will. | ||
