i'm really happy that with such a split in the community BW nerds/SC2 nerds. Zerg tears, Terran cheers etc. we have all united against this clearly bullshit move.

This becomes more and more ridiculous with everyday and more analogies being drawn via other sports, other leagues etc.

Still sucks as GSL won't be as huge as it should be, but I'm glad the community has rallied. Nobody, should buy the stream.

A better poll idea would be Yes/No and a few other price options. That way we'd actually generate some useful data. Seems to be a lot of "$10 for both" or "50 is too much".

I'm probably going to end up getting just the vods because I think it'll be worth it for the entertainment value. Live isn't a big deal to me because they're broadcast at a terrible time for me. Gom season 2/3 were frequently showing up late-morning EST.

I believe the reason in Korea its free (makes money through advertisement to be exact) and here they charge is because they already have the software and advertisers ready in Korea, while here they did not have the time to get all that ready. Hopefully in the future they will move to an adds based model here like in Korea.

get ustream to spread freestream. give HQ option for XX$.

almost zero cost , easily 50k+ viewers(which is good for them,sc2 and creates more opportunity for adds), easy profit from HQ buyers

its at this point its less about me paying or not(and i wont for many reasons) but about the missed opportunity. this couldve been the start of one of the biggest things in the esports world. now they will fail, people will pirate the shit outta them and they will decide foreign market isnt worth it because they have no options anymore (how do you get sponsors when your first season has 250 legit viewers?).

Nope. I'll watch a free re-stream if I can, but if not I won't be too upset. It's ridiculous to charge for a low-quality stream that's probably going to lag and crash all day anyway.
