I've only been a member for a year now, lurked a couple years prior off and on, and I will admit it will be initially alien and disquieting to pull up TL every day and not see that banner greeting me, but no one will deny that the site, the community, and the game(s) we care about so much are going through changes, and we should embrace it and make the most of it. Change that banner that means far more than a thousand words to anyone who has spent time here? Ok, but only because I trust the TL team to replace it with something equally representative of what the current banner has become. Keep it blue, keep at least a single horse involved even if its no longer the central image, and create an addendum to the new member welcome post / rules which shows this banner and describes how it became representative of us. Its effect, so important being at the top of every page, yet so out of place, strange, but connected to such a strong site... its a weird mix which I feel truly gives newcomers a sense of this place being different, proud yet respectful, almost like it intimidates posters against posting stupid shit and TL devolving into just another unrefined internet community. Can a new banner capture the spirit and tradition as well as separate TL from the rest of the world to newcomers at first glance? Sure, and we shouldn't fight evolution so long as it is an improvement, but I do not envy the tremendous task of creating / choosing a new one. | ||

When I open TL, I have every single thing I could possibly want to browse within 1 click reach. The frontpage of TL is by far the best design of any site I've ever been to, edging over google because of having to juggle a whole different volume of stuff to fit on one screen. | ||
