You should change it, but have pandas instead of horses. Then change all the blue in this page to green with a tree background in each of the label things. That would be fun.

Honestly, this was post number one, too. You think that the BANNER is what sets TL apart? HELL NO. It's the amazing community and admins. Team Liquid could have started with the most generic of banners (actually when this website was created all the gamer websites looked very much the way teamliquid does now, minus horses obviously) and ended up with the same exact results.

It's called the snow ball effect, and in internet land it can grow exponentially. Team Luquid is a giant snow ball that is getting bigger and faster the more it "rolls".

As a web developer I could say 100% without a doubt the entire look and feel of the website could change, and as a result would probably see a increase in visitors. You certainly wouldn't have anything to lose. I don't think TL would lose a single page view in the process, as long as the new look and feel is better, rather then worse (duh).

Take a look at thousands of website phenomenons just like TeamLiquid. They have completely changed their branding, most starting as a "snow ball". Think big-boys.com (now break.com). Wow, those guys changed their entire url domain and branding.... and now they're bigger then ever! I think a similar move for teamliquid could potentially produce the same effect break was able to achieve.

16% dont care. thats pretty much 50/50 to me

i don't even notice the banner anymore. while i see no really good reasons for changing it i wouldn't be heartbroken if it was swapped for something else.

but please don't touch the rest of the layout.

Im used to those horses, some new users dont like them, others wont even enter TL cause "its and old and ugly site" and it may be confusing to some who are recently entering the scene (sc2), since it has nothing to do with sc..............maybe marines on top of horses?
