After extensive negotiations we have come to an agreement in which Razer will not only sponsor the entire prize pool of the TSL, but also the substantial cost of streaming the games live to you, the fans. We are delighted to be working with them, and hope that the upcoming league surpasses all expectations.
In an industry notoriously lacking in willing sponsors, Razer has been at the forefront of supporting eSports in all it's manifestations. They are currently supporting twenty-one teams, the top WCIII progamers, as well as numerous LAN events. The Razer TSL, however, represents a step into uncharted territory. We are thankful for their trust, and will do our best to prove that TL is a worthy investment.
In the coming days, TL will be launching a new page dedicated completely to the Razer TSL. In addition, Razer will be more than a silent partner. They will be taking an active interest in the tournament, hosting their own TSL page with a "Guess the TSL Champion" contest.

Thank you Razer! This seems also like a very fruitful cooperation/sponsoring and I am sure that Razer won't be disappointed with their exclusive deal. At least, you will always need a good mouse to control your units, regardless of the game.

I know that and I wasn't trying to do anything. It's just that most sites end up like that (bnet). TL.net has the best layout I've seen on the web and I don't want someone to change it. How could it be cleaner?
no offense to the guy who coded battle.net though. it looks nice, but the text is so small it's barely readable.

Great move by Razer, they have well positioned themselves to secure dominance on such a high potential niche market, and now with this sponsorship, it really shows that they are on top of their game. If they ever go public I'll be there for some equity.

I had a Razer Copperhead - Tempest Blue for about 2.5 years until it finally died on me (well, actually it just started to randomly double click on me, which caused me to accidentally pull all my SCVs on more than 1 occasion). I got a cheap Logitech laser mouse to replace it, but my sister told me she wants it (and her birthday is around the corner) so I'll just give it to her and get another Razer, maybe the Razer Krait, or the Razer Lachesis if I'm feeling baller.

This is an amazing accomplishment for TL.net and the starcraft community in general, props to the TL crew and a big THANK YOU to Razer for supporting esports and deciding to venture into "uncharted territory" as it was put. I have a Habu and definately owns my old MX310.
StarCraft doesnt get sponsors easily because it doesn't need much fancy hardware, unlike all the new games. Good that there's still some companies trying to benefit the community.

This is where many companies get it wrong. Gamers are gamers. They play games. And usually, they will upgrade their next computer with games in mind. So they'll go for that beastly computer. That's why even an outdated Counterstrike, a game that will play at 100 fps on even casual computers, SHOULD get sponsors from graphics companies like NVIDIA because their fan base are gamers. And gamers play other games. And even if they don't. they usually like having a top of the line system.
Razer made a smart move here. You can even see it in the responses.

I feel bad for buying a new MX518. I was 5 minutes from getting the Razer Diamondback but I also bought that Microsoft Reclusa keyboard which is a thing between microsoft + razer so I don't feel as bad.

That's really awesome! It may sound a bit artifical, but I bought a diamondback 2 yrs ago because razer was and is the only company who REALLY is dedicated to gaming and wants to promote professional e-sports, thus I wanted to give something back. When I think of Intel for example, I don't have the feeling they take such a genuine interest in SC:BW, of course they sponsor some teams (mym, but who else??), but not to the extent razer does, even though razer is the smaller company I think. Razer ,however, sponsors the TSL which is just great! Thank you so much guys!!

Yay, before this, I didn't think much of Razer and always loved my logitech gear. However, I will definitely get a razer mouse when my 2 mini opticals die. And a Razer keyboard if I have a job.

I will definitely be sticking with Razer mice from now on, I love my current krait, but this act of awesomeness has pretty much turned me into a life-time customer of razer products.

I think this new Razer mouse that is soon to be released looks like it may rival the Mini Optical in terms of feel (for me at least), small, symmetrical, optical, and lightweight. Should be killer. I think I'll pick one up if it is reasonably priced.

I feel similarly, I hear the Krait is good to because of it's size / weight / shape. But a lot of people like "FPS" Razer mice, but they seem pretty big to me. Though, 1.6 billion people can't be wrong.

I like how the Habu looks, but maybe its because I've been using a Microsoft optical for so long, and thats the closest thing to it.

I don't think it would. If there is no need to pour money into something you do not need a sponsor. And because TL really doesn't need sponsor type money, it will not lead into Teamliquid Razer

Razer is not that mainstream give me a tv ad from razer then you can say they are main stream just fan boys like any fanboy shout their name and products everywhere so they dont need to be mainstream mainstream. Razer isnt mainstream you just a "gamer" w/e that means and thus your fimilar with the product but they arent a poor company or a bad company because of that just a specality company
