Didn't OSL do this format for the previous season too? The one that Rain won round robins, not challenger/dual style up/downs is even bo1 round robins, after all they did use the dual tournament for the WoL OSL though, it was separated kespa and non kespa. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2012_OnGameNet_Starleague_Season_1/Dual_Tournament/Non-KeSPA
Dual tournament best of 1 was also used in GSL July-November 2011, when they then changed it to Bo3 as everybody everywhere agreed that Bo1 sucked.
Some people talk of this as if it will be a new, interesting experiment or something.

Sweet. Bo1 and anything can happen. It's either cheese or play super safe. Also the broadcast wont go onfor fifteenhours.

Because the game is exactly the same as it was in 2011.

New maps aren't being used for Ro32.

Soulkey and Ragnarok, Innovation and Flying
|
I wouldn't bet on Innovation in this format, tbh. He isn't really the best player when it comes to defending against some kind of all-in'ish plays (especially Roach/Bane attacks xD).

Lets go flying you can make it out in second place I think for him this format will be better

Somebody needs to move out from that rock they are living under. Flash still isnt at his BW level, but he's pretty damn strong.

Please explain how changes to the game make a Bo1 format any better now than in early WoL. They scrapped it for good reasons, and those reasons are still valid today.

I think in a Bo1 scenario people don't cheese as much because is too risky. Look at YuGiOh he won the macro game but he lost the cheese game. He must be feeling really bad after that. Only a player that absolutely can't compete with the other player in a macro game will cheese but then also the other player will play safe because he knows the chance for a cheese is great. SC2 gameplay is volatile enough, you don't need cheese. Just look at Dreamhack. There were quite a few upsets there and it didn't involved cheese.

Except that cheeses aren't nearly as strong now as they were then, mostly because map size has increased. I actually think Bo1 brings something really interesting to the table, as it also tests how clutch a player is, as he is forced to perform on the spot. Furthermore in total they are kinda playing 1 Bo3 just against different players each match

I thought for sure INnovation was fucked in his match but he somehow turned it around
