GREAT documentary.
I'm so happy that I found an interest for Starcraft and am able to follow all these events and great personalities.
EDIT: It really feels like watching your friends having fun. I was almost about to call Dario as the documentary finished. Then I remembered he doesn't know me, lol

Yesterday: Found about the documentary after euro-match at midnight. Changed my plan to go to bed and first watch the docu. Payed 10 bucks to support it. Also the trailer got me really hyped.
After 40 minutes I went to bed because frankly spoken it was boring.
Please don't ban me but as a paying customer I feel like I just should criticize and tell you why I didn't like it:
- It consists almost exclusively of interviews - Most interviews were constructed using the same pattern (cool, funny, talented dude that is not playing to his potential) - There was no footage of what happens around the players and the organisation - There was no story told (despite in the intro by showing the years and what happened and tlo's story) - I didn't learn much new about TL and the Players
What I liked was: - Little insight into the personalities (hero and jinro) - Hearing Nazgul's thoughts (very rare)
I would not pay for that again... * Disappointed *

Dat last question, hahaha.

Why would they ban you lol?
I just don't see what else everyone was expecting. It focused on the players and the interviews were really good, and I got to know the players a lot better.
Also the final line by TLO was worth $5 alone.

Zenio is the winner of that documentary with the last question^^

I think you overestimate the amount of "story" behind the team. The team IS the players.

A fucking MAZING !!!! :D
Watching asap !!!!!!

WOW.
Loved it, every single minute I enjoyed. I'm only sad that I'm currently not in a position to donate Getting to know the personalities of some of the players you usually don't get to see much of (Hayder, Ret, Sheth, Koreans) was just amazing. All the input from the likes of D9, Wheat and Nazgul's commentary through out was awesome too.
The Liquid/EG rivalry segment was fantastic, really highlighting a genuine competitive friendship between the two teams. Comparing them to Good vs Evil? Perfect. The analogy for HuK's switch was also awesome <3 Felt that way completely.
Gosh my favourite part/darkest part was HuK's segment toward the end. Bringing back all those feelings and emotions.. damn it got me amped/sad. Probably the darkest part of my relatively short E-Sports history, serious. I felt twisted and bitter after HuK left however it was always his decision and I respected it. I wish he would come back <3
HuK left a hole in Team Liquid for me since he left.. God I wish he'd come back.

It's really well made and an absolute pleasure to watch. I'm enjoying it!

Boring, just long interviews. Anyone who "learned more about player's personalities" just didn't watch enough free interviews with them.
|
The production value is great and you can see that someone has put a lot of time into it. But I also think it seems like a big interview and find it boring.
Most of the players are described as "incredibly talented [in some way] but just dont have the results yet." ...

I really enjoyed the interviews, and consider the $5 I chipped in to be well worth an hour and a half of entertainment. I agree with the criticisms others have expressed here to a certain extent: The best documentaries tend to be built around events that allow the construction of a narrative, interspersed with interviews. There were narratives lurking around the edges of this film (Hero's victory, for example), but all of them were only addressed tangentially and in such a way that you basically had to already know about them to understand what was being discussed. I also really would have enjoyed some behind-the-scenes footage.
On both counts, I suspect that budgeting would have been a serious hurdle. Getting enough behind the scenes footage to edit it together into a coherent scene probably requires hours of filming per minute of usable video, whereas interviews are a lot more efficient.
All in all I enjoyed the movie, but I've been so spoiled by the extraordinary quality of everything TL has produced over the years I've been hanging out here that I'm a bit disappointed that the movie was only good and not nuclear-grade awesome.

Really good docu! I'm happy with my purchase

great to watch but I somehow expected something different.

Just finished it. Loved the Huk/Sheth/TLO parts and very much enjoyed the rest too. All the TL players are so cool. Would have been a pleasure to know them IRL, and I think that's a damn good quality to have.
