Who can play?
Anyone with an NA account who does not live in a country assigned to the Korea or Taiwan server can participate. More specifically, players living in Korea, Taiwan, or China cannot participate. Players living in the SEA countries can participate.

HuK lives in Korea at the moment, so he isn't allowed to participate. Same goes for Idra, Jinro and Ret.

Nice lineup so far with many strong EU players like TLO, Naniwa, WhiteRa, Nerchio, Darkforce, MorroW. Will be interesting to see them face off against such great players like qxc, drewbie, iNcontroL or TT1.

I have a complaint about the rules, specifically, the rule that allows players to change race between matchups. Why is this rule here? Is it here because TL doesn't want strong players to be eliminated early on in the tournament by lesser players on maps that favor the other race? Is it here by mistake? What happens if I play PvZ, ZvT, and ZvP and my opponent plays TvP, ZvZ, and PvP? Do you both go back to your original race?

Why is racepicking based on the map and your opponent's race allowed in the tournament? Many of the maps significantly favor one race over another in certain matchups. In a prior TL Open, I played morrow in the ro32 - a game I looked forward to - and on the bracket, it listed him as Z. So it would be a ZvZ on Delta Quadrant, in which I, as a top 200 zerg, believed I had a decent chance in. But he choose terran, and won, on the TvZ favored Delta Quadrant.

Allowing players to racepick based on the map is a stupid method, no other tournament allows it, and TL never allowed this in SC1 tournaments they hosted. GSL doesn't let Idra switch to terran if he finds himself in a ZvZ or playing ZvT on steppes. Is there any good reason why this is here?

A double-blind pick would be done by the referee if this were the case.

I see nothing wrong with what you just described.

We disagree, and we feel players should be able to race pick. I don't see how else to justify it, we just believe it's much better for TL Opens. Everyone is able to racepick, so it's not unfair for any minority of players.
