dear brood.
please show some professionalism in your writing.
as much as i enjoy your write-ups, your obvious favoritism for certain players is a problem in an otherwise great post.
no matter how you feel the need to personally defend Idra, you should recognize the mistakes he made against the wonderful tactics of Zenio, instead of trying to make excuses for him.
also, your attempt to downplay Zenio's creative maneuver by calling it 'cheese' was just awful, no matter the adjectives that preceded it. i know it sucks that one of us has lost to another korean, but impartiality should be the standard in any review.
excuse my aggression, but i hope that my constructive criticism will be understood as such, and will be used to enhance your future write-ups.

I just noticed Nestea was Yellow instead of the usual red/blue we see. Whats up with that?
|
I think it's used in zerg mirrors to improve the contrast in zergling battles. Good idea.
|
about Nestea vs Zenio Game 2 @ Scrap Station: In the VOD you can see that NesTea has an overlord flying north of zenios left gas, with that overlord he sees that zenio is not taking a second gas, which he would have to if he would tech aswell. so nestea actually pretty much KNEW that an allin was coming, he didnt just guess.
very good writeups overall though

excuse my aggression, but i hope that my constructive criticism will be understood as such, and will be used to enhance your future write-ups. I think it's worth noting that BroOd didn't do the write up on those games, TrueRedemption & Treehugger did Ro16. BroOd simply compiled it all and gave the intro and posted.
Also, I disagree. I thought the information was presented fairly, and while the word "cheesy" is used, it's used after the word "wonderful," implying that the viewer/writer enjoyed the strategy a great deal. IdrA also received a C rating for his play, which was described as "uninspired." I guess I don't understand your aggression, and think that given the content of the post, and the work that went into it, it's unwarranted.
I didn't read all the write ups, and can't speak to whether other events of favoritism are present, but I just felt that the examples you gave were inappropriate and thought I'd offer a different perspective.
As for the OP, well done as always, and thanks for the coverage.

foxers marine micro on shakuras plateu vs the zerg is a must see!
|
awesome read as always, my favorite week moment. Two corrections : "Kyrix keeps a squad of marines to assure that Boxer cannot expand back into his natural" (in game 5 foxer vs kyrix) And in the same serie, no player grades are given.

Wow, nestea is dominating. Has he lost any games yet?
|
No spoiler free recommendations?

Great read
Only 1 game with 5 ratings
|
Excellent write up :D i especially love the screenshots with the text beneath!

I don't know how you can't give Foxer-Kyrix Game One 5 stars. That game was amazing. It was even better than game 5, where players made many mistakes.

I think the story of this article is mainly
MARINES

i agree 100%.
in the report, idra scouted zenios main no? he responded horribly and coulnd't figure out what to do with overseers. he seemed lost and confused with a strategy he hasn't encountered in his daily grind. it is sort of like when he was playing BW and he ran into the odd timing attacks of f91, the chinese zerg. every time idra runs into non standard play, he crumbles and doesn't know how to respond. this is not the making of a great player.
in the second set, he builds baneling nest but now banelings? he has horrible unit composition despite knowing what zenio was up to?
there is no excuse for not being prepared for such an important series. in the many games idra has played, categorizing 1/3 of the Sc2 matchup as irrelevant isn't right. so what if it is a bad matchup, you just have to rise up to the challenge of doing whatever it takes to win the games. recall jaedong vs stork in his first OSL, where jaedong was sitting on a record of 50% z v p winning rate, losing bo5 to therock. a true champion and a great player will rise up to the challenge and crush his opponent, but idra has never displayed this killer instinct, whether it be GSL of this round or the previous.
the reviewers are being much too modest about idra's skills. they discredit his losses due to it being in a matchup he wasn't prepared for. that isn't anyone's fault but idras. they claim that zenio cheesed hard, but wouldn't some spores or Anti-air negated the overseers? if it was affecting him that much throughout the whole game, he should have responded accordingly to deal with the threat.
he was outplayed both games due to his inability to adapt to a scenario, and he should have got a D+ just like checkprime for playing so horribly.

The post made excuses for Idra though, saying "the win isn't that impressive for someone who admitted ZvZ isn't their best" or something. I'm kind of sick of people saying things like "Idra just needs practice at ZvZ." The only thing that matters is results. Until Idra shows actual notcieable improvement in ZvZ, people should stop giving him unwarranted credit for doing nothing.

Wonderful writeup! Thanks.

Same here. Love the write-up. And I'm seconding the request for more timely write-ups as the SC2 live report threads are so useless compared to the BW live report threads.

I think it's quite plain that IdrA's ZvZ was not up to par in the series with Zenio. As we learned from interviews afterwords, neither was Zenio's for that matter. Hence the grades. Why belabor the point by hating on the games any more?
The write-up for Idra's grade specifically addresses the post-series discussion which seemed to focus on whether or not Idra is overrated. Whether that's correct or not is beside the point, it seemed unfair to draw that conclusion from this series in particular.
