I'm sorry.

I'm really sorry. I apologize sincerely to everyone involved with and working in e-sports, and especially to my team mates and all my fans who've been watching me and believing in me.

I know I don't even have the right to apologize... I'm uploading this apology with the thought that keeping silent on the matter would be even worse.

At my age, I can't claim it was a moment's mistake and hope for forgiveness... I know that.
It's my fault for not being able to resist the temptation of the moment. I'm regretting it from the bottom of my heart.

I know that for the last 7 years, hundreds of people have been loving me and cheering for me... Thanks to them, I made it (as a progamer) until now.... why did I do this... I was so immature.

I know that it's unforgiveable, that I can't expect to earn your forgiveness through a few letters, that it doesn't make my sin any better... But still. I will tell you how deeply sorry I am.

There are no words through which I could ever apologize enough to the people who've been supporting and loving me all this time. But...

Really. I'm really... sorry.

Hwasin ;_; Make a few sexy photo shoots and we all forgive you!

The more that 'Reality of Progaming' article sinks in, and the more of these apologies I read, the more I feel so sorry for a lot of them (not really savior though, since he had it made)

Savior, although bonjwa, has never been regarded as the kind of role model Boxer, Nada or Oov are. BW will survive.

nada or oov is nowhere near savior, in terms of symbolic influence and pool of fans at least. boxer though of course is of his own category.

spoken like someone who got into starcraft in 2007. nada and oov are bigger names than savior

Obviously they are not. Only need to point out one thing: they let Boxer and Savior to relay the 2008 olympic torch, not Nada or Oov.

Btw, Savior refuted to take part, quoting China's poor human rights. At that time I thought he was a good guy, or maybe he really was...

Do tell me you are kidding. NaDa is THE most consistent player of all time, the first winner of the golden mouse, has been on countless TV-shows and have won a variety of tournaments for the last 9 years, one coinciding with the death of his dad. iloveoov could in his prime be compared to the Flash of today. That guy basically invented macro.
In 2008 Saviors achievements were still fresh in memory and people thought he could make a comeback. That does not mean he's been as influental as two of the most important and inspiring progamers in the history of professional Starcraft, nor that he has had more fans or anything like it.
NaDa is probably the most famous and well liked progamer after Boxer, and that says a lot. oov on the other hand is the apprentice that beat his master, which just so happens to be Boxer as well.

Savior will only be remembered as the cheating bastard that had a good run of a little more than two years a few years back.

I was not kidding, and you seem to have missed the point. What I was saying is about those guys' FAME, or ICONIC IMAGES, not their skill. (Even though in terms of skill still I think Savior revolutionized SC at least as much as Nada or Oov did, if not more.)

There is a reason for Savior's huge, and uncomparable, influence among ordinary SC fans, which you may have failed to notice. He is the only pro who ever standed on the top with a low APM. He was there, proving that this game can be played to its best even with a low APM. Considering that, compared to pros, most amateur players' problem is, prima facie, their APM, Savior's very existence is their redemption...

As to how much this scandal will destroy his fame, that's another question. I for one certainly will respect him, if at all, much less as I did before, but to say Nada or Oov's fame WAS comparable to Savior's is indeed like a joke.

You're partially right. From Liquipedia:
"In Stracraft, the name "bonjwa" was first used as a nickname for July. As a term to name a particularly dominant player, it was established during the sAviOr-era.[1]"

You seem to have missed most of what I wrote. I specifically claimed that both oov and NaDa (especially him), are almost comparable to boxer in regard to their fame status. NaDa has over the years gathered much more fame than Savior ever has, and anyone that started watching pro-SC years before Savior rose to the top would not dispute this.
As far as APM go, there has been many players with low APM doing well. IIRC Stork and Nal_rA both have had comparably low APM and still been on top. Savior isn't special in this regard, nor was his fame built upon it.

Saying NaDa's fame is a joke compared to Saviors is just ignorant.

The perfect song for this situation:

You look so dumb right now
Standin' outside my house
Tryin' to apologize
You're so ugly when you cry
Please
Just cut it out

Don't tell me you're sorry,
Cause you're not,
And baby when I know,
You're only sorry you got caught

But you put on quite a show.
Really had me goin'
But now it's time to go,
Curtain's finally closin'.
That was quite a show.
Very entertainin'.
But it's over now.
Go on and take a bow.

You can't just blabla how good how famous Nada and Oov are compared to Savior. Let's talk about evidence. Besides the selection of the Olympic relayers (of course they picked out the most popular ones, that were Boxer and Savior, not Nada or Oov), in 2009 there was a so-called Heritage Match of E-star. Those players involved were all picked up by fans themselves, and if I remember correctly either Savior or Boxer got most votes, and votes for Oov was just fractional to Savior's, and Nada was even fewer (appreciate if someone can find a link about this). At that time Savior has already fallen--become part of the heritage, indeed--so you can't explain this away by saying it's just because Savior was still 'active' at that moment.

As to Stork and Nal_rA, first their APM is not as low as Savior's, second they were never dominant for a considerable period of time. Like Nada and Oov, they were not as popular as Savior, but for reasons that are much more easy to see.

That was a pretty nice apology by Hwasin, I don't hate him (as much as I did initially) anymore. I still haven't forgiven him (or anyone else involved, especially not Savior) though.

I believe in the almighty Grötslev! -- I am never serious and you should never believe a thing I say. Including the previous sentence.

Out of all the "criminals", I suppose I can forgive Hwasin the most.

Just because I read his interview and was kinda touched by his drive to achieve success.

I feel nothing about all the other bastards, especially Savior. I was on board the "savior will destroy everyone in 2009" bandwagon too.

On the contrary, I think he will be forgotten soon. It's good for his fans, and kespa, and the promoters. People tend to do things that make themselves more comfortable, you know.

This is the first scandal on this scale in the world of starcraft esports. People won't just be able to forget that savior was at the heart of this. Do you honestly believe that when you hear "Savior" you'll remember all his great games and totally forget the part he played in this?

ACE Coach's official apology.

Apologizes that someone in ACE has been linked to the scandals... nothing 'certain' about future of ACE has been set (apparently rumors of disbanding?). I, and the team would do our best for the remainder of the games... even if the next is the last.
Stuck.
