These progamers (most of them out of their competing prime anyways) are guys that dropped school and/or potential careers just so they could get best at their game. Being this passionate about SC is something I can relate to, however you can't expect high morals from most of those people (kudos to exceptions). Making them your idols or loving them on any other ground except perhaps trying to learn from their gaming skill or enjoying the way they play is completely silly. Saviour was a great Starcraft player. He is a sellout for money, but honestly - what did you expect? Most of them are poor anyway, chance to reap money from silly gamblers like this is the best thing that happened to them. The amounts are so small because this is all the reporters have proof for. There is probably a lot more money in this then it seems now. Many professional sports scenes are rotten, why would you expect progaming scene to be different ...

Seriously, anybody who even cares for this scums achievements in broodwar still retarded. His face should be striken from the walls as a champion and sent immediately to the military. I'm hope he has a job like clearing mines or testing grenades. I wish I could say I knew he was a pos before now, but I didn't. Surely not every one, but it must be that some substantial portion of them knew that this opportunity existed, or even that some of their teammates were taking advantage of it. It just can't be that the ~8 outed players comprise even a majority of progamers who were aware they could throw games to make money. Everyone knows about the betting sites.

To disrespect the entire community and scene like this for chump change just doesn't make sense.
