1: Was the win a result of bad town play more than good mafia play? 2: How to avoid the constant TvT wagons that wrecked this game for town? 3: Was there any more the mafia could have done to control the game or would this ultimately be an unnecessary risk? 4: Were there any big, defining errors made by town where the game should have gone differently? I'm not asking for any detailed analysis, more just off the tops of your heads from memory as a guide for me so I know what to look for as I re-read the game. Thanks | ||

You all did enough to be less of a target than the major wagons, so that was good scum play. Some players are great at doing crazy big plays as scum, that causes them to be town read for a good part of the game. A high profile bus can work really well. But it can also backfire horrifically. The safe play for scum is to be pretty much exactly where you guys were at. Not wielding big thread influence, but wielding just enough to push town into wagons on townies. Of course, what looks like all scum being safe can unravel really fast if town gets a good case and lynch going, scum reacts badly and then topples one after another. But still. Letting town tear each other apart is the way most mafia victories go. 4: Were there any big, defining errors made by town where the game should have gone differently? 1. Shooting Palmar (this wasted 2 1/2 days) 2. Fake claiming (this contributed to the chezinu lynch and would've gotten Onegu lynched eventually if the game had continued. It also outted FF. It's also just really dumb play as town) 3. Lynching BH (retarded to lynch someone "for information") 4. Lynching Chezinu (stupid lynch happened in a stupid way) Town was whipped into a frenzy chasing its own tail by any or all of these events and not thinking straight. You could add the game ending Oats lynch to that, but I'm biased and don't think it was a terrible lynch. But there was probably a lack of critical thinking in town at this point. I'm not asking for any detailed analysis, more just off the tops of your heads from memory as a guide for me so I know what to look for as I re-read the game. Thanks | ||

Thanks Not too much to add beyond acro, but as for 3) it doesn't need to be a single big play or anything, just having an active player getting townread can do a lot to help out the scum agenda proactively. The way the scumteam played is perfect for how TL mafia plays (much as rayn whines constantly, it's town's fault for not lynching inactive scummers and instead going off on the first thing in their face) so in that sense, yes it's an unnecessary risk since not being there means you don't get lynched while activity can make somebody see you as 'the issue'. Overall the risk is probably simply not worth it with the current policy towards policy. BUT that means mafia give up a lot of potential thread influence and basically means they're at the mercy of the 'town leaders' having bad tunnels or reads. I'm not saying y'all were just lucky town was too busy infighting to look for scum (or just had bad reads), but... 4) The biggest one is electing HF d1 by far. Never do that. | ||

 Having the exams for all of my classes on the same week really crippled me N2 onwards, and I'm sad I didn't get to cause a little more havoc by doing a massive OMGUS case on Tictock before I died. But all in all scum won so I guess I did my job well | ||

Speaking of my Watch List, I think it's something like this right now: Meap Grack Jock Mr. Wiggles Acro Bloddy HF (just not comfortable with him just floating around the game making no impact, yet being relatively present) Rels is also close to being on this list for "playing" but only making a "Hi" post then laughing at something rayn did. He only escapes this list because I know he has actively avoided playing D1 as town in recent games. It's the fact that he tried to play a little but didn't actually that almost has him on it. Finally got around to looking at my D1 reads for self gratification. Called out most of the Mafia team in this post, FeelsGoodMan | ||
