Not bad, but yes, weird. Objectively, rayn, geript, hf in game (and especially when you weren't highly townread by the majority) and you as N1 should lead people to question those three. It wasn't negativity on you, Ian.
The same thing happened with me in rayn's game. I do get killed N1/N2 semi-regularly but probably shouldn't have been the night kill if not for strong town players rolling scum that game, especially after being russianed.
I didn't take offense at people finding that weird cause I get it -pokes-

I don't take insults to people finding the kill strange, because honestly it was strange and there were only three scenarios that it brought up.
1) Medic dodge
2) Ritoky was scum
3) Respect kill
I still think it's a mixture of one and three. But they were right as I figured out the game fairly early after I died (which isn't exactly note worthy granted).
Really to bad I chickens out on my geript read early though lol.

mm, with the amount of no votes (yes this may be premature) I'm not feeling another attempt at the game
was batting around the idea in my head of a regular-length D1
keep the judges but they alternate...D1 pick lynch pool, D2 pick power-up pool (so D1 players give power-up to whoever without restrictions, D2 players lynch whoever without restrictions)
nights the judges can post in thread so they can be influenced etc.
person can't get a power-up consecutive days
problem is, i hear you on the rb for scum. i'm just not sure how to give scum an advantage when they win the power-up, and there really should be one. it definitely shouldn't hurt mafia to get it. we thought people would just use the roleblock to kill the guy with the power-up...technically that could confirm someone who won before was mafia, but there's also no guarantee of that. just because someone claims vest in thread and dies doesn't mean they actually took vest, you know? i'd never assume that playing from a town slot. but it doesn't matter if most town does and that happens to be true, because then they can narrow down a scum on faulty logic lol ><
i guess i'm wondering how we could make that work for scum...random thought was recruitment to switch someone's alignment but i'm not sure i really like that either
and ultimately it doesn't seem like people want to play a game where judges have so much control...or any. even these suggestions wouldn't eliminate judge power, just reduce it

he also mentioned removing power-ups. but then it would be an all-vanilla game with judges? especially if we're reducing the lynches they can narrow, might as well just do an all-vanilla game at that point

I think the setup is promising Tbh it just need tweets.
Like maybe randomize each day who judges are but they are only ever there to give powers not pick lynched. And they are unconfirmed to thread and each other.

i personally don't give a flying fuck about the normal things people say 'mod-confirms' anyone. if someone's being a shithead to scum rayn, i'm not going to let that continue just because he's scum. if someone tells me 'yes, i'm working extra hours and i need to lie to my gf and that's awkward for me but the real reason i want to replace out is people are scumreading me for the wrong reasons when i'm scum', yes, i'll tell them tough titty. obviously we didn't just tell rayn to suck it up, but no, that will never be a suitable replacement excuse for me
and ultimately i don't care if someone says 'the host told me x' when i'm playing in a game; of course they can be lying or leveraging it. but because so many in the community here seem to, we should have cracked down on that in thread. instead, rayn used it and we didn't say anything. then eversince abused it. then cake used it. so, lesson learned. much as i think it's dumb for people to think i'm going to modkill someone for mentioning my name in thread, it was becoming disruptive to the game and should have been stopped. apologies

i like this idea i really do actually. we'd just still need to tweak powers in a way that scum benefits if they manage to win it...
one idea we had pre-game was that the winner actually passes off the prize to someone of their choice. then you could have a permanent scum rb..doesn't help with the 'prize' for a scum win but helps with not confirming scum was one of the previous top choices

oh I'm not taking it personally!! I think I have a lot to improve on (especially with my raging this game). I think I was just frustrated because in a normal game I could read your motivation for putting people up for lynch, but since I couldn't, I was lost. I couldn't think of why (until the geript/disinfo/rayn lynch pool) the pool was what it was
stuff to learn in trying to figure out the judges instead of being mad about it, right?
EDIT: also thank you hosts for being patient with me even though I took it too far this game. I'll probably cool off for a bit before getting myself into a mafia game next time!

The idea was fresh and I think it could be used in a themed game for a cycle or something. It's a fun mechanic. It even could be a stand alone game with some extra tweaks.
