In the next 5 weeks, I have 2 weeks in Singapore and another week in NYC and somewhere in there a few weekends of weekend travel - I'll just put it out there but on Friday my husband and I celebrate our 5th year anniversary...so the next few we're doing some awesome fun things together. I think once RL settles down (mmaaaayyyybeeeee the holidays?) I'd love to play again, but I've already had to replace out once when I was on business travel, and my last few days/cycle in Gaiden were in NYC and I did not fare well, so I have to be VERY careful that when I sign up for games it just does not interfere with travel or personal things. That's the beauty of hosting and cohosting....vote counts and general setups they require spurts of time, and not continuous play which I simply cannot spare when I'm on the road and especially if I have to travel outside Europe. Honestly I miss playing town with Rasputin, you and a few others....damn.  | ||

some of you (namely LS and sicklucker, GB to a lesser extent) were very difficult to read on account of your posts being very tenuous to read. if English isn't your first language, that's one thing, but I had to read several posts multiple times which gets frustrating in a spammy game and especially in the spammy d1. also I expressed concern to rsoultin and maybe I'll say it here, I struggled in my newbie to make my voice heard. I had a different perspective, I can't and don't use meta, and I was drowned out. This game would have probably broken me the way people were yelling over each other, as was mentioned. I feel that even as concise I know I can make my points I could have been ignored (assuming I would have gotten town if I played this one). MD's posts were easy within the post, his thought process were all over the place but this I did not feel was unusual from his previous two games. Meta. That word. My picks for scum were Rels and Shining with the third any of GB, Moosy (before he claimed) and LS. sicklucker I was null on most of the game, I couldn't read him at all. I was skeptical of rayn very much before I research him in the database because he was just so fucking antagonistic I thought he was scum trying to run disruption and/or shit up the thread. the balance debates/claim analysis sort of confused me, as well as I know HTS, I know jack shit about balancing stuff so like Moosy I would have ignored any arguments about the blues unless I was a blue role myself. I was cop in my last game yes, but....I had a coach. I was encouraged to co-host....tbf and I've told HTS this...hosting seems like a thankless job...but maybe I'll just try vote counting and shit and see how it goes. EoD appears frustrating (and I know watching her firsthand) though to count the votes with all the switching going on. Not sure I'd have the patience to learn all the intracacies. I don't know. well played everyone, and well played to the town for pulling it together in mylo. thanks again rsoultin (or Tina, if you prefer) for having me shadow. I agree with the sentiment for Trfel for town MVP. good on him. | ||

Out of all of that I prefer 48/24 it gives decent amount of time without totally wearing people out. While still being long enough to have worthwhile discussion. Rs you shouldn't quit tbh you are a good player and you shouldn't let what players say in this case get to you. Take a break but come back. I'm not really going to talk about balance I think it was much to town favored to an extreme but its just my opinion. Besides that gg all and see you all one day. | ||

It was Town RB, DT, and 1-Shot Tracker vs Framer, RB, and a Strongman shot. Seems pretty balanced to me, unless there's something I am missing. | ||

Or he catches mafia and we get off on a good start. The multishot dt is the strongest role early as its extremely unlikely that they get the framed target and I was never checking cool n1 so either I found scum or confirmed a town. No gf in this setup was hard. And rb was the strongest town role in the game especially late. Its a mix between medic and cop. Strongarm helps a bit. But town basically has three cops. Mafia has a rb and a framer. Unless they get lucky with a frame or rb one of the roles yeah. If we played optimal could come into d2 with 5 confirmed town with knowing one person at least didn't carry the shot. However say moosey rb SL n1 he carries kp whops we have I check shining (which I almost did to make sure) And Scott tracked rels That's super unlikely obviously but I don't think its fair for all mafia to be outer in one night if unlucky with power roles. While the mafia has little recourse to supreme luck in this setup | ||

I'm not gunna claim to understand balance terribly well, but I feel like your brushing off the Mafia roles a little too lightly here. Like from a pure numbers stance it looks balanced, 2 "strong" roles and a single shot type role per side. While I understand that the information provided to town by the DT and tracker can be very useful to town they rely on correct guesses just as much as the mafia roles do. Now you could probably make a pretty good argument that the Framer is a fairly weak role, while both Cop and RB are fairly strong. So there might be some lean in favor of town, but I don't feel it's as overwhelmingly town favored as some were making it out to be. | ||
