Blood mixes with the dew on the leaves, and as he tries to rise, he realizes this will be his resting place. He had failed. He had called for help, and the help had died, and alone, he could not stand against The Coven. In the battle for these villagers' lives-- nay, their very souls-- he had flinched, he had stuttered, he had lost. They would die godless without his ministrations, their sin would go uncleansed. His death would damn them. The Abominations approach him, drooling, barking, and snapping in their demonic frenzy.Their red eyes glow with an emotion beyond human comprehension, each an embodiment of the sin and heathenism he fought against his whole life. He closes his eyes as he expects them to rip him apart. Instead, they begin to circle him. Each foul creature begins to bray and bark, filling the air with the sound of hell, like shatter glass, like tearing metal, like roaring furnaces, like sulfur and salt and the taste of blood and the feeling of something harsh and grating. The braying goes on and on, the noises blending together until it seems, for a moment, that The Priest understands it until he feels like he can hear The Words of the Devil in the formless sound. The Abominations melt together, a ring of muscle and bone around him, and at last he comprehends them. They are Lucifer made flesh, and the voice comes, and it is more terrible and beautiful than he could have ever imagined. It does not threaten or laugh or demean. It has only one word for him, then another, then another, until a sentence forms of the chaos. "Submit to me, priest." Suddenly, The Priest's eyes are filled with visions of life, the life he might have. He sees himself submit to Lucifer and damning himself. He rejoins the town, and as a man of learning and letters, starts a school. He teaches children to read and write, and in times his school becomes a library, then a University. As an older man, he brings learning and light into more lives than anyone else. The town-- no, it is a city now-- is prosperous and everyone lives happily. His University even has a school of theology, and many great clergymen and preachers graduate from the seminary. He dies as an old man, surrounded by friends and family, and his honor is remembered forever. He blinks the vision away. The temptation. The trickery of The Devil. "I will not fall for such trickery! You would never do good, Deceiver! Priests were born to oppose the Devil, not bow to his will! Your plans for evil will never--" There is a moment, as he speaks, where he might have even fully believed what he said. But, when Lucifer interrupts him, he listens. "I am not offering you power, or wealth, or damnation. I only offer you what your 'Lord' never would-- I offer you a choice. You can die here, or you can join me, and create a more beautiful world, a world of free will, without predestination. A world where a man's character determines who he is, not the blind meddling of an all-powerful God. I cannot give you success-- you will find that for yourself, one way or another. You are an educated man, and a good man, but I will not repeat myself again. Submit, and be free, or resist, and be destroyed." The Priest is silent for a moment. He had always had them, the doubts. He joined the clergy for many reasons, but one of them was to be an educated man, and to teach others. Somehow... somehow now things seemed to be different. The Devil wasn't offering him power or sin, just choice. And didn't The Lord allow Man free will? Wait... was he already being influenced? Would he normally have doubts like this, thoughts like this? Was his soul already being corrupted by the darkness? How can you find if your reasoning is being warped, using only your reasoning? The Priest tried to squirm away from the writhing flesh, but couldn't move. There was really no escape. The silence in the air was expectant, and he knew that what he did here would decide his fate. "I.... I will.... I will never submit to you, Lucifer! The... The Lord protect me! Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil. You are with me, Your rod and Your sta--" The words caught in his throat as he was run through by a dozen bone swords extruded from the Abominations. The Devil sighed. "A pity. You would have been a most excellent apostate." Mafia concession The Priest has been killed! The Coven is victorious! Lucifer claims another village! I really doubt BM would've lived day 2 no matter what happened, though. You were the only shot at mafia winning. Also I really do mean everything I said about smurfs day 1. Look at how much meta played into getting LS killed and BM suspected. Both yamato and I agreed that it wasn't like BM to play like this as town. Meta is so useful when used properly. | ||

The only reason this game lasted only two days is because you are a total douche. I've made no case day1. Your plan was to lurk? To push the scummiest agenda possible? You ducking wanted me to vote bugs after his activity day1? It's incredible how bad you can be as either alignment. I can understand LS having no motivation to play, but you are in another level of badness and dickiness | ||

Like for almost 12 hours we got almost nothing out of him, and it forced him to be more active, but he never provided real reads I only backed off because of the sheer backlash I got, otherwise I would've kept tunneling him till he died. I got almost no backup at all on that push so I switched to LS also if I knew his meta I probably would've nailed him 100%. I didn't have the time to look into his past games when he slipped GB but at that point I assumed I was wrong already | ||

I think I did my best to show why it was in town's best interest to either get something out of you, whether it be an identity or reads. We got absolutely nothing and yet people still considered you town I only backed off because people disagreed with me. Generally when so many people disagree with me I start convincing myself that I am wrong. I did not like what you posted but I gave it a rest because it was destroying the thread. That's why I started calling you bad, because if so many people disagreed with me I thought you must be an idiot townie who I should start ignoring for having bad opinions. It's good that I picked up on LS otherwise I would've started tunneling some poor townie like stutters also it was definitely NOT a policy lynch. It was pressure based on being a smurf and I didn't like the direction you took after the pressure | ||

I chose to smurf so people wouldn't have this idea that "he is glowingbear, he is wrong". But then I rolled scum, and being bad would be helpful if I got my identity revealed at some point. In other words, in the beginning of the game, you were right for the wrong reasons | ||
