I was going through some really old games and saw that while thread activity is maybe 1/4 of what it is now (which this game is kinda aimed at allowing people with less time to play), people were still insanely active. It's just a bunch of their activity was funneled into pm's. So pm's would let people who have lots of activity still use it fruitfully despite the post restrictions, while letting the less active players have a useful thread. Best way to think about pm's is it makes it somewhat a different game and gives you more options. You have the ability to make more elaborate plans and influence people when the thread is clogged up. With a proper setup and no real time aspect it doesn't favor either side 2 pms per player are a pain for the host/players to keep track of but people seem to like the mix it gives. Figure out the exact kind of game you want and choose based on that. I think all 3 versions are quite fun and its hard to pick between them. | ||
