Message GMarshal if you request a ban please ^_^
Also when the game you're sitting out is over! ~GMarshal |
BH, I'm not even justifying what I did, cause that wasn't me. So I don't care if I have been wronged or not, and if I can do that or not, cause I don't say such stuff anyway.
But you gotta understand that kush comes from a time with other standards, like me, we grew the thick skin you needed not to tilt at 100000 insults, and now it looks like you get banned for something that isn't even an insult.
If at least you had to make a point, you made it now, but give your pretty extreme stance switch in modding some time to ripe for players who come from a rougher environment.

I don't think anyone aside from Blazinghand really found Kush's in-game language offensive? It's always up to the hosts but I think the moderation in this case was rather extreme.

That's the exact point though. moderation (in BH's opinion at least) needs to be stricter and so BH is being stricter about it in his games.

My personal, fairly unimportant opinion on this would be that BH is free to do so in his games, but unless the OP specifically states that he expects markedly different and clean language from all players (which I checked and it didn't), he shouldn't be pursuing supplemental punishment for cases like this that other hosts wouldn't necessarily be taking in-game action on. In-game modkill is understandable and ENTIRELY his prerogative. Out-of-game punishment (aka here) probably needs a more blatant disregard for rules presented in the OP or a more blatant and intentional disregard for in-game warnings.

Does this not cover it? It's from BH's OP:
Inappropriate posts: If you want to post something insulting or inappropriate and know the TL mods would have a problem with it elsewhere, don't post it here. If you do, a host will warn you or modkill you and request that you be banned from future games. The hosts have the final say on what is inappropriate. If you do not like how someone is talking to you, please PM a host, Flamewheel, or Mig before involving the TL staff. If you are unsatisfied with how the situation is resolved, then you can appeal to the TL staff normally.
As a general guideline: Stuff like "this argument is dumb because XYZ" is fine. Stuff like "you are doing ABC, which is dumb" or "you're dumb because you do ABC, and ABC is dumb" is fine. Stuff like "you're dumb. lolooloooo" is not fine. Insults and abrasive play happen, but it must all be oriented towards trying to win the game. Don't be that guy. The main thing is: don't insult for the purpose of insulting only. I'm very verbal about people getting out of line, so if you cross the line I will let you know. I am not afraid to ruin a game of mafia for 10 people and 4 hosts just to modkill someone.

Nah, I don't think that the warning in the OP or in the thread were enough to clearly indicate to kush that what he posted was grounds for modkill or ban. And as such, I think that a modkill is acceptable because it's the host that decides what is modkillable ultimately, but a ban seems less reasonable because to me bans revolve more (although not entirely) around player's intentions.
If I get modkilled for inactivity because I gave up on a game, I deserve a ban. If I get modkilled for inactivity after requesting a replacement and providing a perfectly good reason for being unable to play, I don't deserve a ban IMO despite both resulting in a modkill and there being no difference to how badly I'm ruining the game.
However, I'm really really honestly not going to argue this because it isn't too important to me.

yeah I actually agree with Grack and Sn0.

intentional behavior notwithstanding, I feel that the disregard for mod warnings would suffice for 'grounds to ban'

i didn't disregard any warnings. i didn't realize "gayfk"would be violation of that warning.

Kush, pleading ignorance wouldn't cut it in the real world and shouldn't be an acceptable defense in this case. You knew you were warned and made a comment that could be construed as over the line. I can concede that it was asking a lot to suddenly ask you to curb your way of typing into a more acceptable manner but you were warned and ultimately failed to adhere to the posting restrictions laid out by the host. Your loss at that point. If we neglect to uphold the rules as set by the hosts, why do I need to accept when they tell me X Player was lynched? I can just rage and say no Player Y was lynched. Also Player Y was scum so town wins yay \ - - /
|
hopeless i did not realize gayfk would even be close to crossing the line.
|
nevertheless, it was crossing the line according to BH. I don't think it was an unreasonable thing to modkill you over considering you were warned. Was it strict? Yes, absolutely, but that is the entire point of this exercise. The authority of the host needs to be held paramount regarding moderation decisions within their own game.

I don't take offense from things like that based purely on myself being a badmouth. Also "gayfk" is pretty rofl and i don't think why that would be offending anyone.

This is almost like a typical TL town bantering about before mislynching some poor schmuck over me

according to general social etiquette kushs guilt or innocence hinges on the identity of his sexual orientation. If kush is gay it is considered socially acceptable for him to use the term "gayfk" without offending anyone.
KUSH the easiest way for you to dismiss these charges would be to provide photographic evidence that you are in fact gay and post it in the ban list. perhaps find a guy and ask to suck his dick ( i mean it cant be that hard to find a dick to suck right?? Who doesnt like to get their dick sucked??) and take a picture. that will show them banlist conspirators they are out of line and clear your name.

The flaw with your plan is if he says "no homo" before hand, then it's not gay. Since we'll have no proof this did not happen, I submit that we cannot accept it as evidence.
