Time Cycle This game follows a 47+1 hour Day/23+1 hour Night cycle. Days will be 47 hours long with a 1 hour silent resolution period during which the hosts will do a bunch of work and you will all be silent. No posting in thread or in hydra/mason qts either. This will be strictly moderated. Nights will be 23 hours long with a 1 hour non-silent action resolution period. Night actions will be accepted up until the 1 hour action resolution period during which no night actions will be accepted, but everyone is still allowed to post in thread and hydra/mason qts. Currently the deadline is 21:00 GMT (+00:00), but that is subject to change.
Voting Voting will be done in the voting thread. You may vote for your own hydra. You must vote each day. You may vote for a no lynch. This game will use a simple plurality lynch. The Hydra with the most votes at the deadline gets lynched (unless no lynch was chosen).
In addition to the regular lynch, there will also be a vote each day to swap 2 players. You must vote for only one person to be swapped and the top 2 vote getters will be swapped. Being swapped switches which hydras those 2 players belong to. For example if Hydra 1 consists of Crossfire99 and geript and Hydra 2 consists of phagga and jampidampi, and geript and phagga were the top 2 vote getters, Hydra 1 would now consist of Crossfire99 and phagga and Hydra 2 would now consist of geript and jampidampi.
Clues There are no clues.
PMs PMs are not allowed in this game. All communication between hydra heads and mason partners will be done in a qt provided by the hosts. You are never allowed to quote directly from your mason or hydra qt or share the link. This will be strictly moderated. You are allowed to discuss in the thread what was said there, you just can’t quote it.
Replacements: Replacements will be done until Night 2.
This game is heavily themed. Every effort has been put into this game to balance it, though usage of your brain will be required. As such, initially I will only be accepting sign-ups from players who have played already played 1 game of mafia. If we do not have enough people to fill all of the player slots I might open the game to new players. Maybe.
This is a Closed setup but you do know the following things.
Hydras can be of mixed alignment and are randomly determined. Each hydra head has a separate role and uses personal tl account to play. Hydra heads belonging to the same hydra can communicate outside the thread in a qt that will be provided. Host provided qts are the only allowed means of outside communication. You are never allowed to quote directly from your mason or hydra qt or share the link. This will be strictly moderated. You are allowed to discuss in the thread what was said there, you just can’t quote it.
Lynches and scum KP act on hydras. This means that if a hydra is lynched each player that is part of the hydra is lynched. If a hydra is shot by scum KP, each player that is part of the hydra is dealt 1 KP.
Most roles are variations of semi-standard roles to allow for interaction with the hydra mechanic. The only notifications anyone will receive will be roleblock notifications and changing hydra qt notifications.
Mafia win condition: Create a scenario where nothing can prevent mafia from eliminating all anti-mafia players.
Town win condition: Eliminate all anti-town players.

Don't worry iamp. This was taken into account when designing the setup.

Screw you I don't take orders from The Man!
Think I'll play something a bit more standard first if I end up playing, thanks though <3
Seems like a nice, simple game for me to start with.
Exactly. Very simple indeed. Also, that's something like I did when I was done with my newbies. I went and joined Aperture 2 and got hooked on themed games. Hopefully this game will show you the awesome craziness that themed games can be.

Yeah, no problem, but if you ever change your mind, I'm sure this game will still be waiting lol.

Thought I'd stir the pot here though, because it does look like a lot of fun.
Well thanks for the interest. I definitely understand why you don't want to join yet. I think a lot of people are doing what you're doing lol. Maybe I'll just get everyone when they die in GoT mafia. I think that game is going to start real fast and mine will still be patiently waiting.

Or when the hosts give the ok to this madman to play this while waiting for the newbie to start
Nop can't until one finish or can't join newbie THIS IS DRIVING ME SANE
Signups are slow, I think, because this game, while interesting, kinda flies in the face of what people enjoy about being a hydra.
Many people enjoy doing the hydra thing because they're effectively confirmed masons with each other, and you can shoot the shit with a friend in the QT. You have someone to work together with for the whole game.
This game kinda removes that element, it suddenly becomes hard work rather then pleasurable. Not in any way saying the game as it stands is a bad idea, just my viewpoint on the whole hydra thing.
I think another issue might be the fact that it's advertised as a mini (due to slots) when in reality it's the size of a normal, and so you have to compete with other normals rather than minis?

I understand and if people don't want to play because of that, I don't mind. I personally prefer crazy complicated setups (hence why I come up with this stuff), but I know not everyone likes them.

Eh, I don't think that is really an issue. Until GoT and LXII went up this was the only game with a lot of players. I just think themed games take a while to fill nowadays (unless there is a lot of hype due to the theme or host or whatnot). I mean Doctor Who mafia had 12 people and that took 1 month to fill. Honestly, I think this should be classified as a mini because it is still a hydra game where hydras die due to lynches and kp, but I agree it is not a traditional mini.
I also don't mind waiting a few weeks until this gets filled because I'm not going anywhere, so I'm fine with the slow fill speed.
I'm trying to gauge interest in this game and determine whether or not I should just let it die or try to resurrect it. I want to resurrect it, but I need players interested in order to do so.

You are never allowed to quote directly from your mason
Reason for this rule?
There is a reason for this rule (which I'm not revealing purposely) and according to your poll, most people prefer the current rule of no quoting, only paraphrasing.
Also, I'm gonna leave this game open for a few more weeks to see if it gets filled. If it doesn't get filled by then, I'll probably just let it die.

This game is officially on hold indefinitely. I don't know if I'll bring it back or what. I might bring it back later as is and see if people are interested or I might try to see if I can lower the player requirement at that time. Instead, people should join my new game found here
