He almost made it, almost reconnected with a death eater, when he found himself cornered by Aurors. He braced himself, brought his shields up to defend the deadly curses that would come his way, but he was unprepared for what came next. In retrospect, he should have seen it coming, just from the age of the Aurors-- all nearly into their second century. These weren't any Aurors, these were Aurors loyal to the senior Crouch, his father. The Imperius Curse caught him by surprise, and suddenly his mind was again lowered into that deep happiness, that false pleasure that the Imperius curse gives you as it convinces you to do things you never would.
