Yes, attracting suspicion to yourself IS townie. But that is exactly what you do if you are playing that style as scum. And he has done it pretty much everytime someone has called him out. Which causes me to read it as a heuristic to diminish suspicion by emulating a townie reaction, rather than a genuine show of emotion that has not been premeditated.
