I got my call out on Xatalos in time, so I didn't see a downside, as he was my strongest read.
I was hoping to force the Mafia's hand in trying to hit me, since they wouldn't be sure if I was healing Mattchew, thus wasting a shot, and killing me, again, wasting a shot. They didn't take the bait, however. scum actually fucked this up. They should have shot you and mattchew. They were guarenteed a kill and if you were bluffing maybe get 2 if mattchew doesnt jail you. At worst mattchew jailing you would roleblock so he would die, at best you get 2 kills

What I mean is by extra-voting when you did, you revealed yourself to the scum team. Their kill choices changed several times on the last night, but you were a constant because you were outed (by the final vote-count) as the double-voter. Up to that point, scum still didn't know what the final blue was (or if it existed). If you hadn't used your vote the last day there, they still wouldn't be sure (a PGO for example would kill them if they targeted you, reducing their number and giving town another lylo, so they might not have risked shooting you). Using it when you did, they knew that town's path to victory was through a double-voter, and that you were it.
I mean, I understand using it...but you outed yourself by keeping it on dude when it was only you and Bugs voting him, and they pretty much know that Bugs can't double-vote .

I know this would be extremely hard to regulate, But an interesting rework to the Littlefinger role could be that everyone thinks he is on their team. I don't know how this would be done, as any rendition of a mafia traitor is pretty bad as he would konw the names of all the mafia. The only way i could think would be to give him such an alternate win condition that he wouldn't even care if mafia or town get lynched/win
|
Oh, I understand now VE. I guess I needed to be online nearer the time of the lynch to switch at the end too, as I still hoped people might see sense;D
|
My play went down a lot after the Risen thing, it was kinda disheartening for 2 reasons: My biggest lead all game turned out to be wrong and everyone seemed to suddenly jump on the idea of me being mafia due to the fact I was pushing the lynch on Risen so hard. Ah well :D
|
Yeah, one thing I've learned after so many games is that sometimes you just have to let a wagon go if you don't think it's going to happen and go with the lynch. Obviously you can't just switch and be like "Meh" but you don't want to stay on a wagon that isn't going anywhere lest you look like hiding scum.
Obviously I see your point in hoping people will see reason, that's always the hope. Especially with as few players, when one or two people seeing the light can make the difference.

yeah, I should have just focused on convincing one person to switch from risk to xata and it would have been enough.

Yeah... you convinced us to doublehit Mattchew to ensure the kill. Still saved one other townie with your ruse, so wasn't a complete loss

That's true actually... But what if the Medic was someone else than Jitsu healing Mattchew, and Mattchew healing Jitsu? Then we would get zero kills and town would have some pretty convincing role claims. At least this way it was a quaranteed kill of a powerful blue role...

nah VE, I was going to shoot him regardless of if the vote thing was weird or not.

Sshhhhh...optimal strategy is optimal sir. :D

What was wrong with my role, by the way?
I think making me killable would've made it too hard, but perhaps if I was BP it would have worked out. I'd still be lynchable, but not shootable.
Honestly getting 3 people to stay alive and 2 people to get lynched was much harder than it looks. Even in a town where I could predict the lynches, I still had to predict night shots for 3 nights in advance. That's incredibly difficult for anyone of either alignment to do. What happens if I pick a scum I think will live who messes up and gets instalynched or vigged? Now I have to wait another cycle to complete my wincon.
I think in a game with a decent town and scum team this wincon would have been nearly impossible to achieve, because I would have had very little influence over lynch affairs and it would be nearly impossible to predict the lynches as easily. I would've lost simply because I would not have had enough time.
