Alright, I understand how my last few posts might seem. Honestly, I have the right intention but perhaps my delivery is poor. I do not want to derail the post-game discussion and I feel that it is unfair to the hosts if my words create a hostile environment for everyone else.

So, what's the difference between them? Qatol and Flamewheel don't play.
I'm not justifying anything, but you should understand a player involved would be more riled up than pathetic bystanders

Yeah the problem with LAL is when you have someone that analysis clearly indicates is town, you're basically choosing to screw yourself over in the current game to enforce future policy. Not the worst idea, especially when there's nothing better, but it's really hard to go along with and not something I generally feel comfortable in supporting. LAL should be there more as a threat. If there is heavy arguing for/against it and there's a chance it will be used, that will automatically will make mafia hesitant in excessively lying.
The thing that struck me this game is just the appalling number of posts. 4400.....and that's without Bill Murray or Pyrr even. Considering that (plus who was on the mafia team) it's really not that surprising that NB/Pandain, no matter how guilty they looked, got off the hook so easily. No duh it's hard for the town to focus on the important points if each gem is 1/250 (literally). Excess of posts=poor and indecisive town play is one of the most common trends there is.

I know I was incredibly frustrated after the last game I played; so much so that I haven't played one since (March!). Still didn't pointlessly rage about it though. There's simply no benefit to doing so.

Wait what?

I di'int do nuffin! Can't help it that random.org hates mafia.
Also, best part was insane detective checking pandain. Pandain shows up red, somehow doesn't get lynched and when the insane detective dies he looks more blue than ever.

This game was not nearly as entertaining as others since we didn't get to butcher your name over and over and over again.

Obviously I went ahead and picked the person that would be the least butthurt over me killing them if they flipped town. I did you a service that night! Apparently you were not the primo target lol

I was rooting for Ace after I looked at the role list. But mafia pulled themselves together! Sorry town, we sucked... Though I regret nothing!
|
What did you guys think about the role?
Like? Dislike? Roles should be more/less powerful?
|
Role's should have been designed with their original actions and role types accounted for. The tracker/watcher thing caused a lot of confusion for the town, but I think that was the only issue with roles afaik.
|
the broadcaster should have acess to a pm network and stuff
|
GG guys. It's really fun this game. Well, at least as a Plague Doctor, I never once protected mafia, lol.
Anyway, Pandain caught me really off guard. I more than 80% believe that he's a blue...

Quick summary from mafia point of view.:
Day 1: We try to get Pandain elected. If you notice the votes, all the maf had a vote on Pandain at some point I think. We try and put down fishball. Things go wrong when Dr. H runs. Pandain + Coag are sooooo scummy here. Seriously, I was facepalming at some of the posts. Dr. H gets elected and lynches youngminii. Youngminii lynch dodges and sinquity dies.
Night 1: We decide to kill Kingjames and Brownbear. They were playing well and were unlikely to have medic protection. We RB Dr. H as well so his stick doesn't go through. This is to put suspicion on him. At this point we don't know who the random kill will be. We get our first bit of luck here, with the bodyguard being killed, after the Aeres/DC thingy.
Day 2: Aeres gets lynched and Fishball gets modkilled. If I was town here I would be raging SO HARD. Lynching aeres was a huuuuuuge waste. It allowed us to just run riot with accusations and stuff and attempt to pile suspicion on Dr. H. Fishball modkill was lucky for us as well.
Night 2: We kill Jcarlsoniv because he is playing well. We kill bumatlarge via bus to knock out the PM network. Now town has no private communication as far as we know.
Day 3: Coagulation gets unlucky, Double lynch is voted in.
Night 3: The big one. We kill Dr. H via bus and save NB at the same time. We take out CubEdIn as well. DCLXVI dies from his role, Beneather as well. Unfortunately, mods are evil and get 3rd party to kill me ;_;
Day 4: PANDAIN IS STILL NOT LYNCHED, WTF. In fact, town lynches the non-scummy detective KtheZ, Hyperbola gets lynched as well, not too sure why. Pandain, L, Ace, RoL are really scummy but none of them get lynched. NB isn't really scummy, just afk.
Night 4: Town have a chance! Amber[LighT] dies but takes out RoL with him. 3rd party take out Ace. This drops maf KP to 1 + NB random kill only. We kill infinite and kitaman27 because both are DT roles. Veldril dies because of his role.
Day 5: Pandain attempts to get Kenpachi lynched and succeeds. Last minute blitz gets Nemesis take out as well. However it exposes L + Pandain as scum. We have pretty much lost the game at this point if we can't convince the 3rd party to help us. We know that node is dying tonight which in turn will kill NB. If 3rd party hit Pandain, then only L is left, and his vote blitzing ensured that town know he is scum. Epic plan is formed involving getting m-rus to hit. 3rd party must be convinced to not kill Pandain.
I may have left some things out, feel free to add anything or ask questions.

I watched most of this game. I'm new to online mafia games, though mafia used to be a favorite party game when I was in highschool. My two cents on this game:
Dr. H, you're better mafia than you are town (apparently you're much more experienced as scum?). Actually, you are quite awesome as mafia, but as pointed out early (and you yourself admitted), your scumhunting was lackluster (i think the spaminess hurt). Not to be too hard on you though, since your leadership was actually great (just look at the town after you died lol).
Town, Ace, L, and Pandain were all lynches you should have made happen. If you had nailed these guys earlier, the thread would have been a LOT less spammy and confusion-inducing. Instead, they were allowed to defend themselves via shouting matches while town made the stupidest lynch decisions possible.
Kenpachi, your self-defense was really weak. It looked like Mafia cut you loose, just like they did with Coag. I believed Pandain was GF 100% until he called you out and you responded so poorly. You knew he was GF 100% as soon as he called you out, you should have forcefully argued this with the town. There were good reasons on your side: - No other mayor candidates flipped red, but there's no way Mafia wouldn't put forward a candidate - Coag asked a DT to check Panda (XD L) - Pandain did not follow through with campaign promises or contribute to scumhunting - Pandain picked the EASIEST POSSIBLE role to fake for a mafia--alignment checker - etc.
Mafia, you spread chaos and terror like raspberry jam on toast. I don't think we saw the most nuanced, subtle play from your side, but it got the job done so who can argue? Actually, I think this game style is probably effective in a game this size, with no role lists. If you make mistakes (and you are sure to with so many people), just spam spam spam until nobody remembers. It shouldn't work in a small game though, so don't try this at home.
Hosts, great job, super fun set-up. The tracker/watcher thing did not throw me at all (prolly since I don't play online games?).
Third party: Correct me if I'm wrong, but
On November 11 2010 06:41 Artanis[Xp] wrote: Regarding win condition: Mafia need to kill all non-mafia non-third party members to win. LSB is wrong in this. I decided on this ruling because a number of things could still jeopardize mafia victory even if they gain a numerical advantage in town, therefore they wouldn't be assured victory. Doesn't this mean 100% you can't win with mafia? That scum is most definitely going to betray you? correct me if I'm wrong here. Also, Lunar, I might be wrong, but I think you could have claimed Vigi and called out Ace, thus saving the town from one of their god-awful lynches.
Very fun game to watch, I'll be playing next time for sure.
